This is a very simple biscuit recipe, family recipe.
Often, I'll prepare this the night before. Wake up before dawn, and enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee...and the smell of biscuits, cooking. Life doesn't get better than that.
Here's the recipe (it's very easy).
2 cups of flour
1 tsp of salt
2 tsps of double-acting baking powder
2 tbl spoons of butter.
Mix all together. Slow add about 2/3 cup milk to mix the dough. Kneed the dough as you slowly add the milk. Once you have a ball of dough...
Roll it out to 3/4 inch thick. Add a little flour to the roller to make it stick less. Cut dough into squares, or run a knife over the top making x patterns is what I do.
Preheat oven to 450F, cook for 12-16 minutes until golden brown.
Done. Serve with real butter. If you serve with anything but real butter, my family members will roll over in their grave and haunt you. :) Just kidding...but, serve with real butter.
