New season started a couple of weeks ago, and now that I live not too many miles from the area that most happen in, I'm thinking to visit some circles again this summer. 4 circles reported so far this summer, my favourite so far, just over the road from stonehenge (in the background):

Best place to keep up if interested is the crop circle connector (http://www.cropcircleconnector.com/2010/2010.html). The circles seem to become ever more complex, so should be another interesting year.

Japan has something to do with it......don't asked me how they do it because I don't know, to me all that is Japanese art........I really like them.

I enjoy pictures of interesting crop circles, either fake or legit.

Do you have any favorite crop circle pics, uranian?

Yeah, me too... at the very least these crop circles are terrific, absolutely terrific environmental art.

whether they're "real" or not is a strange question. broken/exploded nodes on the plants is often taken as a sign that they're not human-made, but another phenomenon often associated with the circles is for electronic gear to malfunction, and compasses to act odd, and this happens even in circles known to be made by people. equally i know of at least one occasion where a group of researchers decided on a pattern, meditated on it overnight while overlooking a field, lo and behold, next day, there it is. they defy logic oftentimes.

couple of my faves:

http://www.alienresearchcorp.com/crop-circles/2004/wiltshire-silbury-hill/wiltshire.jpg

http://www.astrojourneys.com/images/et_cropcircle_450_opt.jpg

the disc decodes to an ASCII message that says (odd capitalisation is part of it):

Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES.

Much PAIN but still time.

BELIEVE.

There is GOOD out there.

We OPpose DECEPTION.

I really like this one, as it appears there are humans there too. First time I've seen a human in any crop pics.

Am I really supposed to believe that this was created by some drunk Irishmen coming back from a pub?

The mathematical precision is too deep, I don't know what creates these, but it isn't two drunk men over the course of a few hours.

With all the friggin' cameras in the UK there should be some video evidence somewhere, no? LOL

But whatever/whoever did it, I would be pissed if I were the barley farmer and something was messing with my crops!

i went to this one a few weeks ago, that's a barrow (http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=421) next to it, very peaceful, you can still go in to this 1000s of years old structure. the circle itself was made in a field of broad beans!

that's a pretty one.

i think they're done using a high power UV laser, because it's the one tool i know of that vaporizes without burning.

of course, it has to be numerically controlled, and it has to be mounted on a stable platform, and the numerical control has to compensate for any position changes in the platform - or it f*cks up the crop circle.

interesting for not being in the UK, as england seems to get 90%+ of crop circles. this one is in switzerland:

The Cryptocracy is "hiding in plain sight" a whole lotta messages for us "lesser beings."

Highly-advanced technologies are making these, and I've no doubt it's terrestrials punching in the patterns.

My guess would be a few ropes of different length, a stake in the center of each circle human feet (or a lawnmower with a bagger if they wanted it to look perfect), a plan and a probably a measuring tape and compass/protractor. In most of these shots you can see the human-sized tracks where the vegetation has been cut or stomped down.

A mysterious 300ft crop circle has appeared in Wiltshire, Britain.

As far as crop circles go, this is a pretty cool design. We can only speculate that these crop circles are just a product of incredibly talented people, but some might also speculate that these are a product of aliens visiting earth.

I’ve seen plenty of intricate crop circles that have been done by humans in various documentaries, but to think that some people have the skill and time to pull something like this off is pretty insane. You’d either need a team of a dozen or more people working throughout the night in almost perfect unison to create a patter like this, or some really meticulous person doing this over a period of a few days. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

So how was it made?

http://therealrevo.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/crop-circle.jpg

I'm sorry, I just have a hard time believing humans could accomplish this in 8 hours, the course of one night. Technology simply has to be involved.

It's not that the feat is impossible, of course. I believe that with the right surveyor's tools, this would be achievable. Just not in 8 hours, and these patterns always appear overnight.

I'm begining to think these crop cicles would look more interesting if we could 3D them.

There was one a while ago which was clearly a representation of Pi.

I saw another one a couple months back which was some kind of 8 binary bits into 24 bytes based message but I could not decipher it against any kind of ASCII chart or anything. It was a circle with 12 wedges and 8 sections going from the innner circle to the edge. Depending where there was a bar you could determing the bit value. put all 8 together you would have a byte. There were 2 x 8 rows of bars for each of the 6 wedges giving 24 bytes in total.

http://www.cropcircleconnector.com/2010/wilton/IMG3736.jpg
I changed the pic for a clearer one

I think the byte values are:

122, 235, 20, 233, 22, 105, 107, 148, 241, 14, 105, 150, 107, 148, 115, 140, 67, 188, 243, 12, 89, 166, 133

I do not know which is the start or end point but I figured if it was meaningful then that would be obvious.

While amazing, this doesn't shed any light on the time constraint issue. These artistic feats take an entire planting season to create, do they not? Do you see any way in which to make a comprable design in the course of one night?

If OSLUG could make it in under 6-8 hours then I would be interested, but a lot of these show up overnight.

The people were drinking and having fun and not trying to set a world record. The nutjobs are stone cold sober and want you to believe as hard as they do. You just aren't motivated enough to get enough motivated nutjobs to go out and prove it for yourselves.

That's my not so humble opinion on the matter.

You know, this whole story reminds me of the guy who put a bottle inside a bottle. That is to say, it works because people who say it can't be done can't get in the way of the people who do it.

'Crop circle' in Indonesian rice paddy

JAKARTA, Indonesia –
Thousands of curious onlookers are flocking to central Indonesia to look at a "crop circle" in a rice field following rumors it was formed by a UFO.

Though clearly sculptured by humans — it looks like an intricately designed flower — the 70-yard-wide (70-meter-wide) circle has drawn so much attention that police have blocked off the area with yellow tape.

http://d.yimg.com/a/p/ap/20110125/capt.292ad0efb796474b95c0736f53ff5bf0-292ad0efb796474b95c0736f53ff5bf0-0.jpg?x=400&y=265&q=85&sig=dznxXW._RsY_4k9AvDlQ9A--

Villagers have started charging entrance fees.

Guntur Purwanto, chief of Jogotirto village in Sleman district, said the circle appeared in the middle of the green rice paddies over the weekend.

Among those turning out Tuesday and offering opinions were officials from Indonesia's space agency, well-respected astronomers and nuclear agency officials. All agree it was not left by an UFO.
