The Texas Rangers have filed for bankruptcy - and the team still owes Yankees star Alex Rodriguez nearly $25 million in salary, court papers showed Monday.

The Bombers' third baseman was listed as the top unsecured creditor of the Arlington, Tex.-based ballclub, which listed assets and debt of between $100 million and $500 million in Chapter 11 documents.

IIRC, Dubya was a co-owner of this team back in the 90's.

Baseball was about all he could handle after ruining every other company he owned.

How could the Rangers be bankrupt?...with all the fans and spending going on? Most of the fans don't even have a clue what's going on in the world.

Baseball, football... etc. - pure extremely overpriced entertainment. Other than that it has absolutely no value to anyone outside of the teams and their corporate 'sponsors' who get filthy - absolutely filthy - rich by playing the fans for suckers (and suckers they are).

Now, if only the airlines would follow suit, we'd be setting positive trends that are helpful and healing to our culture and society as a whole.
