i would have to say yes

everyone, can have their say on the net thru youtube

plus the influence youtube has had on political agendas / propaganda

i myself have 2+ gigs of youtube videos regarding outdoor/wild edibles/survivalist topics

everyday i type in " DIY " ( do it yourself ) and see if there's something out there i can try or use

Nice, Sui Juris.

I think video cameras and their placement in cell phones changed the world.

The fact that anyone can easily record any event major or minor, upload it, send it to a friend, 100 friends, or news channel, coupled with the fact that most people in the developed world (even some third world countries) have a video camera on them at any given time - changed the world.

I rarely look at youtube videos unless they are recommended. One time I searched for howling chihuahuas (because one of mine howls at the train), and I lost hours of my life. It was fun, but a major time warp.

Hahahaha! Yes, youtube (and the internet in general) can be quite a time-killer if you let it...
