If it makes sense, works, and is cost effective, you can forget the gov using it. Thats not how they roll.

C'mon Sarge. You know they have the solution. They are letting this turn into a mega disaster just to divert the heat off their money scams. They've pumped the enviromentalist/green meme up so big and now we know why. As if they care about the enviroment.

Everyone is sitting on the edge of their seats watching this.

I forecast they aren't going to solve this problem til after the summer at least.

well the locals are pissed

I saw that parish president in louisiana, and he flat out said "we are not waiting for the govt anymore, we are taking the situation into our own hands"

if the locals knew about this, they would do it on their own

your right it is intentional

but this solution would solve it all, and the byproducts are edible for the food chain

These microbes were the first thing I thought about when I heard of the oil spill.

I think they are genetically modified to perform their task however, so the ramifications of releasing them into the environment may not be fully known.

that original video has to be about 20 years old, and they did at least 2 moderate spills with the microbes

no reports of any "abnormalities"

really at this point, the gulf is essentially dead

the booms, skimming, etc is not going to work, just to much oil, hurricane season, etc

this solution is low tech in application, environmentally friendly, etc

I'm glad at least people are starting to say fuck the fedgov and doing what they want.

And yeah, the unintended consequences could be bad, but I'm a fan of trying something over nothing.
