Thousands protest Israel around Turkey

Members of TKP carrying the banner: "We will bring to accounts murderer Israel" Thousands of people protested the Israeli attack against Gaza aid flotilla in Istanbul and other cities around Turkey.

From early hours in the morning, hundreds of people started to gather in front the Israeli Consulate in Levent, Istanbul.

Around 07:00 am, some 300 people tried to storm the consulate, an office in a big business centre, but were stopped by police forces.

The crowd increased rapidly by thousands, and people marched to Taksim and held a protest here.

Members of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) held demonstrations in Ankara, Istanbul and İzmir. TKP will hold other protests in many cities around the country.

After the protest in Istanbul in front of the Israeli consulate, thousands of communists marched to the Taksim Square and made a press statement here, condemning the Israeli attack.

Greece siding with Turkey - the end is nigh. Reuters reports: "Greek police fired teargas on Monday at demonstrators protesting outside the Israeli embassy in Athens over Israel's storming of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla and the killing of pro-Palestinian activists. "Dozens of protesters tried to break a police cordon, and police responded with teargas," said a Reuters witness. About 2,500 protesters rallied outside the embassy, police said, chanting "Hands off Gaza".

Thanks, Neuro. Perhaps a Hezbollah attack is on the cards, or even WW3, or the threat of it. I don't think of it so much as provoking and attack as justifying one. Undoubtedly they already have their agents installed in key positions in Hezbollah. They pull the strings on both sides in every conflict.
