Irish ship on collision course with Israeli navy near Gaza.

Irish boat headed to Gazan waters
The 'Rachel Corrie,' the Irish-owned ship with Nobel Peace Prize winner Mairead Maguire on board, continued to sail towards Gaza waters despite Israel making it clear they were giving no guarantees about its safety.
Maguire said the deaths of ten flotilla members at the hands of Israeli commandos had not deterred her of her fellow Irish blockade-runners. "We’re not frightened, no," she said in an interview.
Meanwhile, Ireland's leader warned that the Irish government was watching the fate of the 'Rachel Corrie' very closely.
"If any harm comes to any of our citizens, it will have the most serious consequences," Prime Minister Brian Cowen said.
The Rachel Corrie, called after an American activist who died protesting Israeli actions, had been left behind the main flotilla in Cyprus for repairs and is only now approaching Gaza.
On board the boat is an aid cargo of cement, medical equipment (including a CT scanner) printing paper, schoolbooks and toys.
The ship, which was bought by the Irish Free Gaza Movement and refitted after it was abandoned in port at Dundalk, County Louth, is now heading for a showdown with the Israeli navy.
But Irish Foreign Minister Micheal Martin confirmed to the Irish parliament that he had received no undertaking from Israel that the 'Rachel Corrie' would be given safe passage.
"In terms of the 'Rachel Corrie', we have received no assurances other than that the ambassador has conveyed to us that the Israeli government does not want conflict or confrontation with the 'Rachel Corrie'. So one would hope that a different mindset will prevail," he said.
Martin warned the Israeli government he would take "appropriate diplomatic action" if the ship was not allowed through.
"We will be watching this situation very closely and it is imperative that Israel avoid any action which leads to further bloodshed," he said.
Prime Minister Brian Cowen reinforced the message by saying Israel "did not have a leg to stand on" and warned there would be "serious consequences" if the Irish crewmembers of the 'Rachel Corrie' were harmed.

i wonder if the Irish folks brought beer. i think that would qualify as a humanitarian supply.

Israel is hell-bent on self-destruction. their vigorous bad-neighbor policy, in a world where a nuclear weapon can be fit into a large travel suitcase, in a region that is loaded with oil-cash that they get from the US & Europe & Asia ... Israel has created millions of enemies who have the cash to buy weapons that can wipe Israeli cities off the map.

Jeez, do you think those neighbors, who had the engineering skills to build the pyramids thousands of years ago, might be able to figure out how to militarily counter Israel ?

If Israel was a business plan, I would say it is unlikely to succeed and would not give it venture capital funding.

Of course, the US continues to give Israel their "venture capital funding". but that's only because the US government is not a democracy, it does not work for the 98% of the population that is non-Jewish, or the offshore population that is not only, not American, but derives pleasure from the destruction of America.

Oh, and, to top it off, Israel has 3 subs with nuclear weapons parked off the shore of Iran.

If North Korea had one sub with a nuclear weapon parked off the shore of California, what do you think the US would do ?

one incredibly selfish and destructive nation in the Middle East has managed to create a caricature of deranged & dangerous nation, but the caricature is very real. sort of like Freddy Krueger with nukes, with a side order of Woody Allen to pretend they're concerned about "human rights". or, to use their terms, "goy rights" - although, as I understand it, in the criminal Jewish theology, the goyim have no rights.

this might seem like a comic book fantasy, but obviously, it's very real.

Because Israel has made life so hellish for the Palestinians in Gaza, I actually believe they should be offered land in other nations, where they can go back to being peaceful olive farmers. That is not to say that there is anything fair about such an outcome, just that it is less unfair and less unhealthy than the present situation.

As long as Israel has America's support, we will be having skirmishes like this for the foreseeable future - or worse.

With their attack on America on 9-11, Israel does seem to be putting the petal to the metal. I'm sure the brainwashed young Israeli soldiers on those Israeli subs would love to put on their resume that they nuked Iran.

And, since Israel has a habit of electing war criminals to office, I will bet one ounce of silver that one of those Israeli Navy guys will end up being Israeli Prime Minister someday. Considering the background of Ben-Gurion, Ariel Sharon, and Netanyahu, that is a fairly easy call.

My guess is, at some point in the future, Israel will have as part of its government, veterans of the operational attack on 9-11. I don't mean Netanyahu, I mean the boots on the ground that did the attack - one of them will end up in office.

This arrangement can ONLY exist because of the backing of the United States (of Israel).

These people are international heros.

The whole incident reminds me of the Battle at Kruger.

Israel deserves nothing except what is coming to them, including being disbanded as a country and their influence on any other country removed.
