I figured y'all are a cultured enough group; what do you all think of mead?
How many of you are fellow mead-makers? (I know there are some of you!)

its pretty much the only alcohol I drink, with the exception of a good rum from time to time.
We picked a bottle up in St Augustine a few months back, from a local winery. It was hands down the best I have tasted to date. I'll have to go look at the name because I forgot it, but its better than even some of the home brewed I've had that was brewed by some pretty devout and versed mead makers.
I even like to warm it up on a cold day and have it as a mead "tea".
Im a honey freak, what can I say.

It was suggested to me that I try it by a beer and mead nut as I'm a bit of a beer nut and I just didn't care for it.

I don't drink, sorry.
But I support those who want to brew their own drinkage.

Go figure, Heimdhal drinks mead! How fitting! ;)
I've only been able to try about 3 different commercial brands, and I've tried a few samples of my own creation; although all my meads are less than a year old (but my first mead was bottled last July, so I'll be trying a bottle of it next month!).

Yes, it is only fitting!!
I have been dying to make my own. Theres not alot of commercial brands I LOVE, but some I will drink socialy. I used to do medieval reenactments, so thats pretty much all there ever was. Thats where I developed my taste for it, too.
Whats the "law" say about shipping home brewed mead to people? I'd love to try some of yours and give you a honest critique ;) ;) ;D
If the world ever goes mad max, the mead makers will be the kings behind the curtain. Well, maybe the whiskey/moonshiners too, but we wont tell them.
