Gold is about to close over $1240 - tomorrow we could beat the all time high of $1,248.95 set on May 14. Wow, soon we'll be at $1300 and climbing! :o

panic buying in Europe is finally hitting the price

the articles going mainstream that the euro will be gone in a few years

and people start to scramble

those reports of folks in Greece paying $1700.00+ an ounce for gold

that is the realization that paper money is going away

people in Europe have been through a lot of currency collapses, unlike the U.S.

the last real currency collapse for the U.S. is the confederate war (130+ years)

Most Americans will just "never get it" unlike the Europeans IMO

we do not even have great grandparents that went through a currency collapse

no collective memory of the event

It's weird to see a thread about gold. :plll

My friend showed me an ounce of Rhodium the other day. It's not very pretty at all. Out of all of the precious metal bullion or coins, I like gold and silver the best. If we are headed for financial collapse, I think gold and silver will be useful. Someday I'd like some platinum and palladium.

PS - The second paragraph, while of my true opinion, was written solely for the purpose of using GSUS keywords. ;D

The top of the seasonal forces are here now, same with COT tops,
gold looks strong on the charts cause it is basing near highs,
silver looked real weak yesterday, indication of major market
players concerned about what is coming, shorts capping too,
today we got a pop in silver, it is still behind, weak demand compared
to gold in paper markets, usually when you see some basing like
this in gold it indicates higher prices but point one and two above
outweigh that considering the market is totally rigged. Sucking
in longs and burning them is part of the game. My analysis is not
trading advice but from being a student of LeMetro way back, watching
the markets, COT analysis, others, Sinclair's site even with Norcini,
other forces in market like seasonals, criminality, etc etc ,
Adam Hamilton at Zeal and his complete corrections
and what they look like as well, haven't had one in 2 years almost.

$1,252 in London this am. Damm, and I thought we were headed back down for a bit.

Nah. Silver dropped a bit for the Long Beach Coin Show, but went up this week as planned ;) .

I know it's early in the day but we're now over the $1260 mark, let's see if it will close this high.

Are ya sellin'? If not, who cares?

I'm just kidding. I like to see it go up too, because I am done buying for now. But when I was still buying, it was a double-edged sword either way it went.

Yeah, we need more gold in the gsus. What was the driving force for the rise the past 2 days.

Today was what, a quadruple witching day? Silver kept a nice pace too. I am too late to the game to remember past years and the up down pattern. I was expecting a drop here to pick up a few stocks. Damn things keep running.
