You can carry enough with you to start a new life most anywhere. 150 oz in a purse
1.3 million in a briefcase (1000 oz, 67 lbs) If your great grandpa buried 2K in double eagles on the farm, it would be 150K now.

When silver is $500 per ounce, it won't seem so heavy.

Don't forget, prices are controlled by the cartel, so they'll be able to kill the price just when you need it, like in this upcoming global depression.

one troy ounce is 31.1034768 grams
one avoirdupois ounce is 28.349523125 grams

12 x one troy ounce is one troy pound = 373.2417216 grams
16 x one avoirdupois ounce is one avoirdupois pound = 453.59237 grams

1 troy pound = .823 x one avoirdupois pound

So what? When have you ever seen anybody trying to carry 150 troy ounces of metal? That amount of silver has a price of about $3,000. So when have you ever known anybody to physically transport $3,000?

You people get sidetracked by the dumbest stuff! You'll never be rich if you keep worrying about how to carry your stash instead of how to increase it.

OK sawl, it means you can take ytour ealth with you in a currency/social collapse. It is accepted all over the world. You cant take barrels of ol with you or tons of grain. But gold goes anywhere.

Are you interested more in the use of the stash or the usufruct?

you just have to be careful about the pick pockets at the border that work for the US government.

i believe there is a new tax law, possibly embeded in Obama-care, to tax precious metal for unrealized gains when it leaves the country.

i don't know how they do this. which traveler would have their receipts to establish the cost of something ?

anyway, it's an ugly law, if it's true.

ANYBODY KNOW ?

there's some other new laws about moving money out of the US. they're really trying to clamp down on it.

150 troy ounces weighs a little over 10 pounds avoirdupois (the kind of pounds we try to lose when dieting...)

Personally I do not see the problem. This is but a scrooge mcduck issue. The how is pointless. As long as you have this wonderful problem you are ok.
