In winter is cold and rainy and with the wind blowing.......as a retiree all that I do is the comp, read, play with my cat, eat, sleep and go down the driveway to pick up my mail.......
In summer I have to paint the fence, spot paint the house, mowed the grass, hedge the grass line, clean the tree branches and the whole property, fixed the cracks on the driveway, clean the house ;D, move the lawn furniture back to the deck by the jacuzzi, check out the roof and a lot more........
Do I like summer?............hehehehehehehe I love it.
How about you?

I'm more of a cold climate person, my neighbor has seen me (and he freaked btw) walking barefoot in the snow, the summer heat on the other hand just kills me.
IMO you can always put on more clothing, but you can only take off so much without embarrassing yourself or going to jail.

Exactly, I was born and raised here in the deep South and I still haven't adjusted to the heat. I remember growing up and doing hay driving a tractor (not enclosed) going up and down rows fluffing the hay and my Dad would follow me and bail it, would do that all day long and my Mom came out and brought us water, on her Yukon it said 127*. It was tremendously hot that day, it was so damn hot you didn't even really sweat it was like it just burnt right off you (in humid Fl you ALWAYS sweat). When I used to do hay every summer (round and square bales) I was as dark as a border jumper.
It would be a PITA to shovel snow, drive on icy roads etc no doubt about it, but just as far as the actual temperature is concerned I'll take cold any day of the week. FWIW, the coldest I've ever been is -15*f through -20*f out night skiing in CO a few January's ago. Not that, that is extreme cold or anything but I still found it preferable to 130. The only thing that makes Florida's hellish weather tolerable is lakes.

Quoted for accuracy. I remember as a kids laying in my bed, unable to sleep because of the heat. I was sweating so much the sheets were sticking to me. I would take a blanket and go sleep in the basement or outside in the screened in porch. We just might find ourselves coming back to that again sometime in the future.
Dad OTOH loves the heat, but can't stand being cold. I told him that I can put on more clothes to stay warm, but can't take off any more once I'm hot and stripped down.

Tell you what, after 2 1/2 years in Alaska I get cold from just opening the frig...went to Alaska aboard a ship and when I got there it was snowing, no snow in Cuba, so........I played with it for a while.......never touched the dam thing again.
I tell people that if heaven is cold? I want to go to hell ;D
One of this days (when I learn how) I'll post a picture of my favorite place......my hammock.....it had a fountain next to it a stereo system and a fan above my head and by my side a small home made table for my drink.......almost forgot, and a dujiky to keep the mosquito's away............this is Valhalla to me.

I don't know what a dujiky is, but I'm hoping it's a nice cigar, the best for insect repellent.. ;)

We'd call it a doohicky here in NC... Thingama'jig and whatchamacallit are also legit terms to describe a device for the removal of mosquitos.

I hate the summer, I love the cold. I want to live in the high rockies of Colorado, that's my dream location. When I was working in Breckenridge, Colorado a few years ago, in the middle of July there was still snow on the peaks. That's an elevation of around 9000' above sea level, so the air is thin, doesn't hold as much heat or moisture, so there are cold, dry breezes even through the summer. Fewer homes have air conditioning up there, the air is naturally chilled.

I love the heat, I love the humidity and Florida summers are the best for both. On the other hand I hate the cold! I hate it and cuss it with a passion that would make satan blush. Now if I could only find a really good tropical bug out location???

You bunch of gringos skimos brrrrrrrrrrrrrr, embrace the heat and relax, be one with it and you will be ok.
The funny part about this is that when I went in army, the first time, I was asked where would be my most favorite place to go and I said Italy, and the less favorite place to go? I said Alaska......... well, someone must still be having some fun thinking about me in Alaska.

You folks have never experienced heat. You have only lived with steam. During the summer Yuma, AZ, Thermal, CA and Indio, CA take turns being the hottest city in the nation. Humidity runs about 10% or less. To dress for the heat you wear cotton-poly trousers too big, suspenders not belt, a cotton-poly tee shirt, and a long sleeved white shirt not buttoned. If you are from out of town you should wear a hat so your nose doesn't burn, but after you live here a while you are not burned easily. You probably will want sun glasses. You won't believe how bright it is. It doesn't matter much if you stand in the sun or not. What matters is you have to move every minute or two so you don't drown in a cloud of your own sweat. There is no breeze. None.
ETA: And cheap sneakers not boots.

I like summer time, but as I get older, I have noticed that my heat tolerance is reduced. Previously I have travelled through deserts in Iran and Pakistan, without air condition, and temperature has been above 50 degrees Celsius, and it didn't bother me to much. But nowadays in Istanbul the summer temperatures rarely get above 40 (around 100F), but it is hell for me, though the humidity is really high here compared to the desert.

The older i get , the more i realize that the weather sucks pretty much everywhere.
I spent 6 months working on the Saudi peninsula last year. 120 degrees almost everyday with 80 percent humidity. HELL ON EARTH! Don't know how i survived it.
When i got home in Nov, i was just in time for the Zone 6 winter here in KY. 4 months of hell, locked up in my home thinking about the world falling apart.
Then Spring came, and it rained almost everyday for months. Frickin miserable.
Now summer is here. 90 degree days with 80 percent humidity. Hell on earth.
I used to live in Los Angeles, best weather on the planet. Only problem was the thick smog, and the 25 million people that i shared the smog with. I want to live where it is 78 degrees with 20 percent humidity and a slight 8 mile an hour breeze 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
That being said, i will take summer over winter anyday day of the week.Hands down.

In Cuba and Miami is hot in the day time and hot at nite..........that's what I like about living here in Oregon because it might be hot in the day time but always cool at night.......only about two or three nights a year do I sleep with a fan on.
My new log cabin has walls that are five inches so that in summer it can be ninety five outside at three in the afternoo but only seventy five inside of the cabin, is the perfect place to take a nap in the afternoon.

As a northern Californian, I've always seemed to prefer the time between spring and summer but not summer entirely.
Some coldness + heat is good enough for me.
