Almost half of the Threads Moved?

OK I know I am getting old and crotchety... but it is a pain in the ass when almost half of the general discussion topics are moved. General discussion isn't really general discussion where anything can be discussed. You might as well close the GD board so people will post topics on their respective sub forums?

I like GD to catch up on various subjects without searching every sub forum for the info. I know some will say you can use the new topics link... but it isn't the same for me... why have a general discussion forum where "anything" can be discussed (according to the description)... if you will just move the various threads to other sections.... delete the GD sub forum and make your work easier? Not what I want... but seems like its what the mods want?

I see what you mean, I believe that all the threads for oil the "leak" are very important and should be here, I for one never, or very seldom, go to the other threads.

Seems like a little house cleaning- the current crises are building and will take over the general area. Maybe there is a need to keep those separate.

What I would like to see is the jew-bashing posts kept in a thread. While I am against global elitist controls at least as much as the next bloke, I think there is a twisted jew-hatred spewed by some beyond reason. They are not jews who run the world and they are not jews who are children of the devil. The true jews are jews of the heart and not to be hated.

A quick explanation:

New sub-forum categories were created today by JohnQPublic, we moved most of the Gulf Oil Spill threads into it's own category, and a few other threads into the "global economic collapse" category.

Some threads that were past page 3 were not re-directed, just moved... so if you find your thread disappeared, look in the new sub-forums for it.

I realize this puts me in the minority, but I like the house keeping efforts. I think the Gulf disaster absolutely deserves it's own sub-forum.

I am sick and tired of all the subforums categories created, and the moving around of threads. I really don't want to spend a large amount of time every day to find threads that I think is interesting. This forum really doesn't have enough members to justify the ginormous amount of sub-forums/categories. How about for every new subforum created two old non frequented ones get melded into the general discussion?

I can deal with opinions and posters I don't like, but IMO this is killing the forum...

does no one else but me use the "show unread posts" button at the top? I never even notic what sub-forum a thread is in because they all show up in a list anyways. I rarley, if ever, use the individual sub-forum links unless I am looking for a thread I know is no longer active.

Sometimes I don't open threads cause I don't
want to bump down good threads yet people
here just open threads not thinking and in wrong

I also try to bump good threads with a contribution.

just move them, no redirect

finance and economics needs to be moved up to metals section, near it

people should put their bitching in board comm or get it moved fast

And thanks to the mods, this place is a work in progress that started
from zero on day one, when I joined there were no sections. I am sure
things would be mapped out differently if we could start over.
Lots of stuff overlaps , you can't win. So take it easy on mods/admin, John, Gaillo, Madfranks.

An Israel Zionism section I have no problems with.

If I was starting a forum I would have 3 sections,
1 METALS, 2 ECONOMY, 3 GDISSCUSSION , I think
that is a good map, that would not work here cause
of all the people.

Also, people need to click page 2 in GD.

The main problem I have with this software is
not being able to click and find "THREADS STARTED" by , etc,
I can't even find my own, lol, same thing with a button,
"new threads today", not posts, but threads.

Thanks to Gaillo coming in to explain something that
people should be able to figure out themselves.
Not agreeing or disagreeing with changes.

This works good, save the link, works way better than forum search.
