Undersheriff arrested for domestic battery

UKIAH, Calif. -- Police say Mendocino County Undersheriff Gary Hudson has been arrested on suspicion of felony domestic battery after volunteering information to authorities.
Ukiah police Capt. Justin Wyatt says the 53-year-old Hudson had a verbal argument with a woman identified as his domestic partner on Monday. Police say the argument turned into a pushing-pulling match.
Wyatt says the 49-year-old woman received a scalp injury but did not require medical treatment; Hudson received scratches on his upper body.
Sheriff Tom Allman says Hudson is a longtime advocate for women and children in the sheriff's office and has a clean record.
Allman says Hudson is on administrative leave and is the subject of criminal and internal affairs investigations.
