Steal, over 60% of Russia's import is oil and gas. If you exclude military equipment and add timber it would be a staggering percentage. Over 90% of Russia's imports to USA are minerals and raw materials (including timber). Over 50% of Russia's budget is revenue from oil and gas.

Russia terribly needs to diversify into manufacturing something other than military equipment.


China is swooping resources because you can't manufacture anything if you don't have any.
