At least a couple of youtube channels I'm subscribed to, theduderinok (http://www.youtube.com/user/theduderinok) and setyoufreee (http://www.youtube.com/user/SetYouFreee), have just been deleted by youtube. these guys put out a lot of good info, loads of coast to coast interviews, all sorts of interesting stuff. given that the only way you discover who youtube just decided are too scary is to click the chan link, most people aren't going to know about this. actually they appear to be deleting quite a few, i'm just checking and here's a list of deleted channels (i tend to use youtube as my TV, so have approx. 50 - 100 subscriptions):

http://www.youtube.com/user/butlincat1
http://www.youtube.com/user/DmtShaman

sorta ironic, the deletion of setyoufreee's chan. hope these guys have the sense to put a blog about their channels and find an alternative to youtube.

that creates a market opportunity - a big market opportunity.

Google showed that it was possible to out-Yahoo Yahoo.

Google's acquiescence to censorship creates another front on which they can be challenged by a competitor.

Google being the owner of Youtube.

youtube are losing 100s of millions a year, last i heard. agree that this creates opportunity (disclose.tv is an alternative), but monetising that traffic is a challenge for users used to free hosting.

I've known the internet has been dying for some time.
It starts like a small cancer and it will spread rapidly.
I've learned enough to go it alone, but it is the newly awakened that won't get the benifit of information they need.

That was sarcasm, or no?

Left-libertarianism has always been a fascinating philosophy... whether it is attainable is the question. It is based on voluntarism and productivity, so it probably wouldn't work.

youtube are still up to this, but theduderinok has now set up a new chan (http://www.youtube.com/user/theduderinok2). funnily enough, i get an error message i've never seen from youtube before when i try to subscribe to his new chan, "this functionality is not available right now".
