I have been watching the dates on the
"Metals Calendar - Futures, Options, Dates"

thread.

I assume the days I've highlighted in bold will be good buying days:

DJ Metals Calendar - Futures, Options Dates - Jun 8

Jun 08, 2010 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) --
2010

June 16 Nymex July platinum options expiry
June 24 Comex July silver options expiry
June 24 Comex July copper options expiry
June 28 Comex June gold futures last trading day
June 28 Comex June copper futures last trading day
June 28 Comex July E-mini copper futures last trading day
June 28 Comex July miNY silver futures last trading day
June 28 Nymex June palladium futures last trading day
June 28 Nymex July Asian gold futures last trading day
June 28 Nymex July Asian platinum futures last trading day
June 28 Nymex July Asian palladium futures last trading day

I lost the highlighting but, long story short, Gold is "futures last trading day" status on June 28 for both Comex and NyMex Asian (gold)

That plus all these other days are are last trading days, for other metals.

I have heard guys like Jim Sinclair and frankly names I can't remember, must be the good metals bloggers like Harvey O., talk about these options days as being volatile and tending to produce some downticks in the gold price.

Do you think that will happen this Tuesday ?

I also wonder what are the forces at work that make the prices go down on futures last trading days.

Is this the same thing as a "triple witching day", or just sort of similar ?

changing the subject slightly - I think that is a pretty coin.

But the guy's beard is wierd, it looks like it's one of those under-the-chin beards.

Last trading day on Monday, open interest at 300? Traders have long since moved on to August, October or Dec.

so what normally happens the day after "futures last trading day" ?

does the market tend to go back to its predominant trend ? which at this point i think is prices going up. 8)

or is there usually a day or 2 of volatility even after "futures last trading day" ?

Watch for any price breaks from thurs or friday from 1248. On the 13 or 14 of july we should be higher than 1248.

Kind of answered it yourself. "normally" is a word that is hard to fit into today's market. Have not looked at a chart ( out of powder and saving now for other things) but volume is usally a tell all. I predict a bounce up in asia then who knows when London & NYC open. Will not be 'indoors' tomorrow, but if price stays up and volume starts coming in, look out above.
