My wife gave out a coffee cup/warmer that plugged into the USB port of your computer as Xmas gifts to her co-workers last year. Works with laptops as well as desktops.

So you can keep your drink warm while banging the keys.

No offense, but this suggestion is highly irresponsible.

The phone system is a critical infrastructure during a disaster or power failure. The limited power supply it has for emergency backup is not intended for and does not need people powering lights from it.

If enough people did such an idiotic thing, it might mean someone dies or suffers because they can't call the paramedics or firemen.
