I also notice there isn't a date or time posted for each comment. The names the people used are also a bit generic. I agree, something is fishy.

I've been talking to people about it, the 1.2+ billion dollar price tag especially.

You know what the major problem is? I was totally shocked by this... like totally... people don't know what a billion is. I am dead serious.

I was actually asked by one person, "so what, that's like 12 million?"

So what I came up with was to tell them, if they make $50,000 a year, after taxes, then 1 million dollars is 20 years of work for them.

Now, if they make $50,000 a year, after taxes, then 1 billion dollar is TWENTY THOUSAND years of work for them. After I get to that part, you see the look of shock in their eyes.

It was about 1.3 million dollars per protester arrested, and probably around 3 million per protester actually charged. So 60 years of work for some average joe, to pay for the cops to arrest one protester 'cause he was carrying a bamboo stick or golf balls.
