Best way to save your country is to Sell it? Greece starts putting small tourist islands up for sale to pay down debt.

Oh wow. OK, screw the "Escape from Florida in an Old RV" Plan. I'm gonna go buy a Greek island.

And . . . why not sell off bits and pieces of your country in an effort to "save" it? The USA did a long time ago.

Sad for the people of Greece.

I don't understand the point in buying an island like that though as it's obvious the government will try to suck you dry for every penny you have. Buying an island like that is a bad idea and a bad investment.

Right now I am on a Greek Island. But I don't think it is for sale. It's name is Kos. Small world...

Anyway been here now for 36 hours, I don't get the impression of much of a crisis... Leaving tonight for Sweden, may take a few days before I am able to respond...

You think it's too late to call dibs on it?

Most of these islands are big rocks, lol, and
it is like a blast furnace in summer,
good luck with that on remote rocks,
you need to be totally self sufficient,
in winter the Aegean is unforgiving
as well, it will murder you, even though
it does not snow in southern part.

I can see some country or agents
wanting some of these to put covert
stations on, the more remote ones
on the edge of sovereignty. Turkey
and Israel both would do this.
This is why I think it was suggested
in the first place.

These sales will not solve anything,
the money is a drop in the bucket.
