Unreliable - how about god-forsaken-monkey-balls-sheep-sh*t unrealistic!
"The analysis by the Institute of Transportation Studies challenges the optimistic ridership forecasts by the California High-Speed Rail Authority that indicate the 800-mile system from San Diego to San Francisco would be profitable." (yes that is correct a dedicated rail along the coast of California)
"Recent ridership predictions by the authority estimate that the system will have between 88 million and 117 million passengers a year by 2030. However, under various scenarios offered by the rail authority, the number of passengers could be as low as 40 million passengers a year." Are they f*cking insane?
- This friggin' abortion of a public works boondoggle needs 88 million riders a year - lets look at what that means on a daily level (using non-leap year 365 calendar)
40 million passengers = 110,000 passengers a day
88 million passengers a year = 241,000 passengers a day
110 million passengers a year = 301,000 passengers a day
Please, please do not let the Feds and State throw money into this pit - there is no way that there are 110,000 people who want to ride from SF to San Diego every day - even with 0bama's amnesty!
Oh wait - I forgot - you can fly Southwest for $69 each way and be there in about an hour - Yeah - that rail line is gonna be competitive!
