Mandela cheers for Ghana at World Cup
JOHANNESBURG (AFP) – Nelson Mandela is cheering for Ghana in their World Cup quarter-final Friday, and sent a letter to the country's football federation to encourage them, his foundation said.

"On the historic occasion of the first FIFA World Cup to be hosted in Africa, it is a great pleasure to see that Ghana has reached the quarter finals," South Africa's first black president wrote.

"We join everybody on the continent and in the diaspora in wishing you success in the tournament going forward," he said in the letter to the Ghana Football Association's president, Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner, who turns 92 this month and appears increasingly frail, was instrumental in bringing the World Cup to South Africa but has yet to appear at the tournament.

He cancelled a planned appearance at the opening match on June 11 after his great-granddaughter was killed in a car accident on the eve of the first match.

Ghana is only the third African team to make the quarter-finals. If they beat Uruguay on Friday, they would become the first African team in the semi-finals.

I've got an idea that might help you get over all the 'anti, anti-racism stuff.'

Make a bold jump to the other side. Stick your head out the window, and yell as loud as you can "say no to racism" infact, why not shout it out three or for times just for good measure, and do it every day for a week or so. This way your neighbors (and btw, you don't still call them porch monkyes, do you?) will know that you're a changed man.

As you begin to associate with da hood, do your best to act as they do. They will see this as flattery. Put a little dip in your strut and show some bling.

This is the only way to break the cycle, you need to do a 180 from where you've been.

I laugh at people who are against racism, etc. It's easy to play nice with others when times are decent, but when the chips are down, your skin is your uniform. A wonderful example is any prison in the US. Everybody divides up based on race. People can pretend racism doesn't exist, or that with enough education people can change. In the end, nature has her way.
