Thousands line the streets of Boise on Saturday to watch the annual "We The People Liberty Day Parade."

Here in Boise, Idaho the whole city shows up downtown to watch the parades. Three generations bring their lawnchairs and picnic all day. Many arrive early to get their favorite spot on the sidewalks. Local food and coffee businesses stay open and everyone is welcome to use their restrooms. No rudeness. Kids run around playing. Everybody else is up in the mountains camping on this three-day weekend.

CRIME (http://www.ktvb.com/news/crime) happens, of course, in this city with a population of over 200,000 but nowhere near like California or Florida or the other coastal states. Times are tough here too in this economy.

If you must live in a city, Boise is a nice choice. But something to consider...

http://realestate.yahoo.com/promo/8-new-american-gateways-for-immigrants

"Boise, Id. (Ada County)

"Attracted to the area by job opportunities in agriculture and an affordable cost of living, Boise's immigrant population has climbed by more than 50% over the past decade."

If you really want to move to Idaho, here's a better option (among many others):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salmon,_Idaho

"The racial makeup of the city was 96.76% White"

If you're a Mormon, or like Mormon preparedness, this is a good choice:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rexburg,_Idaho

"The racial makeup of the city was 95.20% White"
