CNN vid, they also report that BP are prohibiting the sick workers from going to public hospitals, insisting they go to a BP facility instead:

edited to add that i wondered if this really was CNN, pretty sure it is as the reporter mentions drew griffin/360, which is a CNN show apparently (http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/category/drew-griffin/).

relevant here too, as fox is a credible reporter:

Oil and water samples were taken from both the Shores of Grand Isle and from 20 miles out. The preliminary analysis was done at an academic analytical chemistry laboratory. Looking for the likely pollutants from the deep water Horizon Oil spill. It was focused on the detection of benzene and propylene glycol. Benzene and other highly toxic contaminants were very low however the concentration of propylene glycol was between 360 and 440 parts per million. Just 25 parts per million is know to kill most fish and propylene glycol is just one of many ingredients found in Corexit. In short, the Gulf is being poisoned by BP's usage of the dispersants even after the EPA asked them to stop back in May. We are willing to provide ANY respected/known laboratory these samples or provide them with more. This is very serious to all people and marine life in and around the Gulf.

That's Sanjay Gupta, he's their medical correspondent and he's also a private practicing nuerosurgeon. When BO took office there was rumor that Gupta would be the new Surgeon General but he turned it down so that he could continue his reporting.

ok, so this definitely isn't bullshit. people are beginning to get sick now, and it seems it's because of the corexit, rather than the oil.

Ah, I'm sure it's just heat exhaustion, what with spending 1/3 of the time working and 2/3's of the time in the shade taking breaks - BP cares about their workers that much BP is directing them to spend 40 minutes of every hour in the shade taking a break. I'm certain this level of care is the reason BP directs their workers to seek care only at BP facilities, in order to make sure their workers only receive the absolute best care available. BP really, really cares about people - isn't this self-evident??

That's probably not the only reason he turned it down... :D He probably makes 3 or 4 times what the US Surgeon General makes doing his schtick at cnn :D, lot's more pay and a lot of play

PhD marine biologist confirming that corexit is being sprayed at night over land, so there's a coating of the stuff in the mornings outside. goes into some detail of how the corexit might affect the gulf ecosystem.

I talked to a guy last night, his brother is on one of the cleanup crews. They're working 16 hour days, comprised of working for 30 min's and breaking for 30 min's, thus an 8 hour work day. He drives the cart and his wife is the picker-upper, between the two, if they last a year, they'll gross about 100K.

What was also interesting is the protocol to get hired on, it's quite extensive, current DL, background check and drug test.

we're now up to 1,500 sick workers, according to BP's doctors:

as someone on GLP pointed out about that james fox vid:

Propylene Glycol makes up 1% to 5% of the components of Corexit. So 430 ppm of Propylene Glycol translates to roughly 8,600 to 43,000 ppm of COrexit in the Gulf water. 8,600 to 43,000 PPM OF COREXIT ON THE GULF SHORES WATER!!!!!!!

or the water tested is actually 4% corexit :o
