I'm very interested in the dirty electricity filters mentioned in part 4 of these videos. Does anyone know about them?

I found the meter here (http://www.amazon.com/GS-M300-A-Stetzerizer-Microsurge-Meter/dp/B002P4HL10/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278579260&sr=8-1), but the only company I know who makes these dirty electricity filters is Graham-Stetzer. Would love to know what your thoughts are. This freaks me out since I have a major WiFi hub right next to me.

Incandecents are banned in Australia now. For probably 2 years now. I did not get any stockpile. When they announced it the stores were cleaned out in a day. I have 2 new ones left and 7 or 8 in use out of about 17.

The ones in use have been there for 8 years now. They are solid if the voltage is stable. I have replaced 4 cfls. I have curly's and lengthways ones.

I have seen the covered ones so I might get those in lieu of real bulbs.

LED has got to be the way. You should be able to run all your light circuits on 24v in that situation making off grid capable.

So far I think LED is weak at the low end of the market. If you can pay you can get good workable LED. You might pay double+ for a light fitting but the globe/LED is built in and permanent. (<- check that) Long term the $ has to come back to you.

I think incandecent is much more efficient ecologically and economically. The run longer when kept clean and with good power. I remember the old 20 watt that hung in Grandad's shed. It's old yellow glow gave that shed a special feel. There were a lot of shadows to poke around in and a little kid's gotta overcome the spooks some before he can really have an adventure. The floor was always padded thick with sawdust and the benches piled high with all sorts of projects that just never seemed to get done. I think we all know those kind of projects.

He was an avid gardner when he retired and won a few awards. Maybe for largest pumpkin or most prolific corn. I don't know but I remember that garden. It was huge and it fed a lot of poor folks around. He was real proud of it. I don't have a photo but I want one right now.

I haven't got to part 4 yet so I'll come back.......

Ok my response now I have seen the whole thing is that the UV light from the globes is probably something to avoid. Put yourself out of their effects how ever that is done for you. Chuck them out or get ones with filters or get shades with filters? Business opportunity there.

Ok speaking of business opportunities I think the follow up programs about Dirty electricity and so on is a bit dubious.

1000 micro watts is not much. It sounds like big number. It's 1 to the power of -6 or 0.000, 001 watt....I think. Home Wifi pumps out about a watt or maybe more. There are other factors such as frequency. AC circuits are at 50Hz for 240 volt in Australia supposedly because it is the most efficient frequency for AC. I do not know in this circumstance if freqency changes with voltage as North America is 110v. I suppose it can, however 50Hz would be pretty standard for producing stepping transformers to move the voltage from mains (110/240) down to the level of the appliance/device. Things would be different but I dont think the frequency would be it. Someone more experience in transformers would know as I don't.

So I am saying a radio wave in the 50Hz range is pretty low frequency. Radio signals or radiation of RF can be more damaging the higher the frequency. Microwave is micro and very dangerous to tissue as it boils the water inside and cooks the tissue. It gets down inside the tissue and bounces around amongst the water molecules.

50Hz is kind of low frequency so it's radiated wave is big. Metres+ long infact 22ft in US speak, so it is not likely to be so severe. But don't discount it. Don't be exposing yourself to high levels, however there is a frequency in the power transmission and it is output in some part as RF.

Power is another aspect and it is not really mentioned other than that 1000 micro watt measurement. Power plays a part. All exposure should be considered over time. How much and for how long. A lot for a little or a little for a lot.

Finally about the filters. I notice that in many countries there are no on and off switches on the power points. I wonder if there were switches, which technically break the circuit would show any such measurements. I think those filters are part switch and well I guess a filter of some sort but I don't know enough to even guess.

sorry that got long. UV probably real risk for some, Dirty power, I'm not convinced. JMHO. Interesting topic. I enjoyed watching the videos.
