This is seriously the first I've heard of ANY of this... if you had come to me earlier today and asked me who LeBron James was, I would not have been able to answer. Not much of a sports fan, I guess... :-\

I think I'm the only basketball fan on this site. :-\
I think it's ignorant to assume that just because one enjoys following a sport that one can't possibly be informed about other things as well.

Who the f*ck is LeBron James?
An overhyped basketball player that wishes he could be like Warren Buffet.

Melon, I'm a b-ball fan but only college for the most part. LJ has a nice FAT check now, the shame is, he doesn't have the insight or the knowledge in his little finger that those on this board do. Nothing wrong with being versed in many things either.

AJ sometimes makes some good points, but for the most part it is kosher.

I agree. I was talking with my father today and we were speculating how much of an impact the tax laws of Florida played in his signing there. He went on to tell me something about favorable property laws there too which I had never heard of and I'm going to have to look into.
While I don't think LeBron is very bright, I don't think he's that big of an idiot either. I just can't stand him and his damn ego.

The property laws/tax laws are pretty good here but I don't think I'd waste any time researching it, Florida is all but done.

Why does the media worship LeBron James, while the State collapses? Other than a big distraction, here's a quote:

We will aid the Negroes to rise in prominence in every walk of life, in the professions and in the world of sports and entertainment. With this prestige, the Negro will be able to intermarry with the whites and begin a process which will deliver America to our cause.

I can't believe you guys aren't understanding why this is a big deal.
Here is the bottom line:
LeBron James MOVES MONEY. He MOVES MONEY...
When Senor James acts, people spend MONEY, in the millions and millions (maybe billions) of dollars. They watch the games on TV. They watch ads and maybe they buy the products that are advertised. They drink cheap beer, and spend more money. He gives people a misguided sense of pride, which gives them confidence in a failing system.
It's pathetic, and telling, I know. But that's the deal. Why is it so hard to understand?
MONEY MOVES when LeBron James does his thing.
Marketing and entertainment, aside from the spoils of war, are the only things Amerika has to hold on to these days. Manufacturing and useful services are tings of the past... LJ is key to the longevity of the charade...

I read somewhere today that because James moved to Miami the Cavaliers franchise lost over 200 million in "value" over night.

Most people can't make 200 million do anything in the course of their lifetimes, much less overnight.
I'm not saying it's right, but this is the reason why the media wants folks to pay attention.
Other than the fact that the whole circus distracts folks from the grim realities of life, that is.

I love that quote, since it lays out exactly what the Jewsmedia aims for.
However, I spent many hours looking into the original source of that quote when I was in college, and was never able to verify it. "Israel Cohen"? That sure sounds made up.

I can't vouch for the quote, but it does seem to make sense. The owner of the Miami Heat is Micky Arison (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micky_Arison).
Micky Arison (born June 29, 1949 in Tel Aviv, Israel) is an Israeli-American businessman and the Chief Executive Officer of Carnival Corporation, the world's largest cruise operator, and owner of the NBA's Miami Heat.
