Winnipeg won the contest (again) for the most Slurpees consumed per capita. I heard SW Detroit won #2.....

I haven't seen a 7-11 in years. I wonder if they're still in this state?

We have been staying away from High-fructose corn syrup.

But I don't think one slurppe a year would hurt anyone :)

I've been pretty good at getting rid of high fructose corn syrup from my diet. I check everything, but bread is the sneaky one. They like to sneak HFCS into bread.

I've gotta say, 7-11 kicks ass.

I work a lot of crazy hours, long days, I stop into a local 7-11, I can get a sandwich (HFCS free) for 3.99 that's fantastic. I can't finish it, no matter how sweaty hungry I am, it's so full of meat. With healthy ingredients. I couldn't make a sandwich that good at that price. They haved salads now too, fresh fruit.

7-11, they figured it out. I am a proud customer of my local one. The one 'chain' I support, you could say. Great store...though I'll pass on the slurpee's ;D, even if they are free.

One?? Oh no--- I'll pass by at least five 7-11s today!!

I'm not worried about a little high-fructose corn syrup. It's frozen! The temps are going to be around High of 87. I'm going to the beach and my bikini is feeling a little loose, must need some corn syrup.

Besides, you only live once . . .

As far as addictions go, at least the slurpee one is only seasonal.

http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2003/09/09/pepsis-slurpee-success.aspx

7-Eleven approached both Pepsi and Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO) last summer in an effort to develop a suitable diet Slurpee formula. Ultimately, Pepsi's scientists won out with a formula consisting of three sugar substitutes: tagatose, erythritol, and sucralose. The Journal says that tagatose, produced by Spherix (Nasdaq: SPEX), was instrumental in attaining the smooth Slurpee consistency, without freezing up the Slurpee machine as the syrup is mixed at 28 degrees.
