Future of migrant preschool program in question

by Associated Press - KTVB.COM - July 12, 2010

CALDWELL -- A preschool and childcare program for kids of migrant workers in southwestern Idaho may lose its site because the property is up for sale.

The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that the Community Council of Idaho's De Colores center near Caldwell has leased the property it sits on for several years. But its longtime landlord has put the land on the market at a price tag of about $390,000, and the nonprofit center doesn't have the money to buy the land. That means a new buyer could choose to displace the center, along with about 30 staff members and 69 students.

Chris Allen, the community service administrator at De Colores, says officials have looked at alternative sites in the region, but none met the budget and facility needs. He says the current landlord has treated the center well, giving them steeply discounted lease rates in the past.

But that's only for "migrant" kids...........and for American kids? one staff for every 30 students, who has the time to teach?, who has the time to learn?.

What I find most fascinating is the degree to which non-English speakers (in particular wetbacks) are accommodated to the nth degree while the natives are relegated to the back of the bus so to speak. You won't find this in ANY other country - in fact in virtually EVERY country in the world except the US if one is caught in country without the requisite documentation one can expect to be deported IMMEDIATELY.

'merikans in general are too f*cking stupid to appreciate this fact, apparently.

Low/no income too, regardless of race.
