Like WTF is going on here??

For a few days now they've been talking about changing out the 'cap' for an improved one that will capture more oil. Just a few hours ago they start talking about how this new cap is going to not only capture at least 60,000 barrels of oil, but that they intend to actually shut off the well with this new cap. This is truly news to me, as it was the first I heard of it. They're doing a great job of keeping us in the dark.

It's the same old song and dance my friends, this cap isn't going to work, it will take relief wells to solve it (maybe- depending on pressure at the head and fissures in substrate which allows leakage). Once in a while, just for the hell of it, a watch the national news on TV and what you hear there and read here are to different things.......like if they were talking about two different wells in two different countries.

Lose - Lose situation.

1. They put the new cap on and it pressurizes. The pressure builds and pulls a large section of degraded pipe out along with the new cap...unrestricted flow.

2. They put the new cap on and it doesn't pressurize. This confirms other leaks that can't be stopped because they're coming directly from the seafloor...unrestricted flow.
