Started the day making blueberry jam, and ended it by pulling a double-crust pear pie out of the oven. Got two pear trees in the back yard that are fully loaded, and I'm the only one that will eat the things raw. And I can only eat so many before it gets old.

I've been making these pies for about 3 years now. I think I got the recipe out of an old cookbook somewhere. Anyway, a few pears, a 1/4 cup flour, 1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar, and a 1/2 tsp. cinnamon powder with a couple of pre-rolled Pillsbury crusts, and it's just like apple pie. Nobody wants the pears, but they ALL eat the pie!

Hopefully I'll get to the point where I make the crust, too, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Another goal, this one possibly attainable, is making up a batch of homemade caramel sauce for dipping apple/pear slices. I found a recipe online and bought all the ingredients, but I just haven't found a good time to try it out.

Anyway, that pie is going to go awful good with my coffee in the morning! ;D
