Dave? the reason for that "at this time" is that less people are working hence less traveling and less power are being used at home in order to save money..........but......even then China would surpass the US in another year or two in the use of gas.

What China uses the most is coal so that I believe that in the "gas" race the US is still ahead.

For the U.S., it will be a slow and painful downward spiral. Not very good for us at all. China has the U.S. by the balls and they are squeezing very hard. China is stocking up on gold and silver and what is the U.S. stocking up on? The vast majority of the U.S. population is stocking up on "paper" (i.e., stocks, U.S. Treasury bonds, FRN's, etc.) and when that paper goes "poof", then we, as U.S. citizens, will be so out of luck among other things.

Well Dave, in that case Cuba is in the bottom of the barrel because we use almost no electricity, but......
WTSHTF Cuba would be the best place to be at because the have been living in WTSHTF for over 46 years so that they know what to do..............Americans in the other hand were at the top for 200 years and not they will be BELOW Cuba.........and like I said before "What will make the situation worse is not the situation itself but the way that the people will handle the situation".

China must develop a true blue-water navy and must control both the Malay Peninsula and Sumatra (two different countries, both Islamic) in order to have any semblance of energy security.

Right now, they have neither. Right now, Muslim countries are friendly to China because they hate the United States. If China were to crack down on more Muslim BS in western China, that could change quickly.

They are a Communist nation. THERE IS NO SURPLUS. Ya know, like when Russia was going to 'nuke' us. All the while they couldnt manufacture a transistor without the aide of the US.

Exactly! Under communism (or socialism) you share the shortage. There is no abundance or surplus, only shortage. Not enough food, water, power, razor blades...
