I can appreciate the confidentiality of PM's when they are of a non threatening or non personal attack nature. I find it distasteful that you have been attacked in private messages. I consider Thunderdome the venue for personal attacks...up front and out in open for all to see. Privately, things can escalate...out in the open keeps things in check. Just my opinion.

If a poster was personally attacking another poster via PM, then the recipient of that PM can just simply click on the "report to admin" link on the offending PM to report that personal attack. 7th did not have to start a thread to air his dirty laundry for all to see. Stacker, unfortunately that will not happen. I will try my best to explain why the smiters are smiting you Stacker. They are smiting you for 1 (or more) of the following reasons:

1. They did not like what you said because it disagrees with their point of view. There is nothing you can do about that.

2. For some unknown reason, they simply do not like you and they will smite you regardless of what you post. There is nothing you can do about that.

3. You are mentioning/complaining about your smite count which in this case tends to increase your smite count. That seems to be part of the GSUS Smite Theory. There is nothing you can do about that.

4. The smiters are just mad at the world and have nothing better to do but to smite posters at random. There is nothing you can do about that.

My recommendations:

1. Do not mention/complain about your smite count.

2. Just be yourself. Do not let the "Big Meanie" smiters influence how you think and feel about certain topics.

I was leading the smite competition but I left GSUS (i.e deleted my GSUS account) on May 28, 2010. At that time, I was begging for smites in a joking fashion The only reason that I was leading the smite competition was because, at that time between when I first registered on GSUS on April 3 and the time that I left on May 28, I was begging for smites and running a smite campaign called "1000 smites before December 31, 2010" in an attempt to become the "Greatest GSUS Smite Whore". Of course that was an epic fail since gave up the GSUS "smite whore" title on May 28, 2010 when I quit GSUS the first time.

At that time, my "smite campaign" sig. line was simply just my humorous way of making a point that getting smited does not matter because smites cannot hurt me. I was just being funny with my "smite campaign" sig. line when I was attempting to make my point that smites cannot hurt me.

When I initially quit GSUS on May 28, 2010, I got my GSUS account deleted and as a result, my karma count, smite count, and post count also got deleted. I had a change of heart and I re-registered on July 12, 2010 to return to GSUS to post. Since I came back to GSUS on July 12, I decided that I would NOT beg for smites and I would NOT run any "smite campaigns" because have already made my point that smiting me does not matter because smites cannot hurt me. I am not scared of smites and I simply do not understand why posters are so worried about accumulating smites. For the record, I have NEVER smited anybody and I DO NOT have any plans to smite anybody. From my perspective, atahualpa and cederchopper are two entirely different characters. I never got along with atahualpa, and I agree with most of what cedarchopper posts. Also cedarchopper doesn't rub me the wrong way like atahualpa did, and cedarchopper has even 'thanked' a few of my posts, which atahualpa would NEVER have done - even if you paid him.

If one feels that the only way to further their side of the debate is to fight in the gutter, {i.e. dirty} obviously the point they are attempting to make can't hold water.
