Gulf Stream - North Atlantic Current Dying, Loop Current in Gulf of Mexico Already Dead

Extreme heat/drought in Russia, Flooding in Asia, Bitter Cold in South America all connected to BP Oil Disaster. (http://europebusines.blogspot.com/2010/08/special-post.html)

(says "Lord Stirling")

ETA: the above page appears to have gone static, following is the blog page which he updates with Gulf Current news:

It is a university level physics experiment to use a tub of cool water and inject a colored stream of warm water into it. You can see the boundary layers of the warm water stream. If you add oil to the tub it breaks down the boundary layers of the warm water stream and effectively destroys the current vorticity . This is what is happening in the Gulf of Mexico and in the Atlantic Ocean.
That is all that is offered from the Dr, not even a link on this.

And while oil packs a punch changing conditions when spread as a sheen on the surface, a ship of dispersant and couple hundred ships in volume of oil in a glob drifting in the sea will not immediately change world currents.

Now I've been paying attention since last fall the North Atlantic current was weak, Ruppert was wondering last year, I've been looking but found nothing lately in the news, perhaps too quiet or nothing to see here.

Who will first claim flip side of the Dr? That the Gulf stream was dying, Britain knew it was is going to climate hell, so the Bold Knight of British Petroleum was sacrificed for the City, in an attempt to bring fair weather back to its lands.

T'was reading over at The Oil Drum this week that the amount of oil spilled (and it was many millions of gallons) would amount to putting a cup of coffee into a Olympic sized swimming pool.

Where do these quacks come from, the government, da jews, or are they all off their meds?

What happened to common sense?

At least GLP makes a disclaimer that nothing is to believed there..

radar/ heat images/ satellite photos would confirm this if true

pretty big temp difference with the gulf stream, and the other waters

It's certainly sensational claims they make. Above my pay grade to analyze the satellite photos provided and know for sure. But the "weird weather" in many place around the globe this year was a real story.

I eagerly await Sorcha Faal's input on this matter, then I'll know what to think. ;D

What happened to common sense?

Hmm, well, it's still around, but you know "sense" depends a lot on what you are trying to accomplish. Perhaps you have heard the saying "If you throw enough bs at the wall, some of it is bound to stick." If that is what you want then the sensible thing to do is throw enough bs.

Another old saying is "It doesn't matter what they say about you as long as they spell your name right." Of course that presumes that you are in a business where it doesn't matter what they say about you. In a different business you would want a different slogan.

So, you want a common sense summary of the latest situation, is that it? Ok, here ya go: It's religious. The whole world is possessed by a spirit of stupid.

UPDATE 2September2010: Europe is going into an early winter ~ link (http://www.iceagenow.com/August_turns_to_November_in_Germany.htm) ~ with snowfall in the Alps coming a month early ~ link (http://www.iceagenow.com/Snow_in_the_Alps_a_month_earlier_than_normal.htm) ~ half a meter of snow in late August in Norway ~ link (http://www.iceagenow.com/Half_a_meter_of_snow_in_Norway.htm) ~ early snow in Russia ~ link (http://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/08/24/snow-in-russia-in-august/) ~ Additionally, sea ice in the Antarctic is at near record levels ~ link (http://www.iceagenow.com/Meteorologist_expects_monster_La_Nina-drastic_cooling.htm) ~ and coldest August in South Australia in 35 years ~ link (http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/south-australia/coldest-sa-august-in-35-years/story-e6frea83-1111117355318) ~ This is indicative of a major climatic change to the entire planet and is to be expected from the dying Thermohaline Circulation System in the Atlantic Ocean.

Stirling further comments, "Sources have told me that the late oil industry insider and whistle blower Matt Simmons, in one of his last public comments, said that the BP Oil Disaster had caused the Loop Current in the Gulf of Mexico to shut down. This may well have been what caused his murder!"

I see "Lord Stirling" put up this youtube on 12/17, "Damaged Gulf Stream affects Jet Stream - Lord Stirling".

It's 22 mins, Stirling basically explains the basics of the Gulf current, and the latest as far as he knows,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HI4tqbQDPKk

the "New mini-Ice-Age" theory is certainly looking plausible with this unprecedented hard winter which N. Europe has been seeing.

Visit Stirling's blog, http://europebusines.blogspot.com, near the top of the daily page updates are stories of the extreme global weather instances, emphasis on N. Europe, which seems to be getting the brunt of the extremes this winter.

This is the blog page which he updates with Gulf Current news:

it appears that the page in the OP has become static...

Not really. The post didn't say, "Don't believe anything you read on the internet."

If the North Atlantic Current stopped wouldn't the entire global warming advocacy community be trumpeting that fact from every media outlet?

WashPost: Scientists concerned massive pool of fresh water in Arctic Ocean could alter Atlantic currents (http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/scientists_concerned_massive_pool_of_fresh_water_i n_arctic_ocean_could_alter_atlantic_currents/2011/04/05/AFANgeiC_story.html?wprss=rss_world)

By Associated Press, Tuesday, April 5

AMSTERDAM — Scientists are monitoring a massive pool of fresh water in the Arctic Ocean that could spill into the Atlantic and potentially alter the key ocean currents that give Western Europe its moderate climate.

The oceanographers said Tuesday the unusual accumulation has been caused by Siberian and Canadian rivers dumping more water into the Arctic and from melting sea ice. Both are consequences of global warming.

If it flushes into the Atlantic, the infusion of fresh water could, in the worst case, change the ocean current that brings warmth from the tropics to European shores, said Laura De Steur of the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research.

German researcher Benjamin Rabe, of the Alfred Wegener Institute, said the Arctic’s fresh water content had increased 20 percent since the 1990s — about 8,400 cubic kilometers. That is the equivalent of all the water in Lake Michigan and Lake Huron together or double the volume of water in Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake.

Increased runoff from the great northern rivers “could potentially impact the large scale ocean circulation in the Atlantic Ocean. This is important for us in Western Europe because our climate is pretty much dictated by the Thermohaline ocean circulation,” said De Steur...

The two scientists spoke to The Associated Press as part of a European Union initiative, called Clamer, to collate and publicize information from 300 EU-funded research projects conducted over the last 13 years on climate change and marine ecology. Rabe and colleagues from the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven, Germany, published their research last year in the journal Deep Sea Research on the effects of higher river runoff on ocean salinity...

Rabe cautioned that scientists have not been studying the situation long enough to predict what may happen, and the results of model simulations also were inconclusive.

How about this attempted linkage Desolation LineTrimmer: It was caused by the cold air perhaps caused by global warming. 8)

As the brackets indicated, a paragraph quite literally stuck in the article:
http://arstechnica.com/science/news/2011/04/an-ozone-hole-opens-in-the-north.ars

(This winter, the Arctic surface was actually unusually warm, even thought the stratosphere was colder than usual. An enhanced greenhouse effect, which traps heat in the lower atmosphere and prevents it from reaching the stratosphere, may have contributed to this difference.)
It has a good map of the 'hole'.
