Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- A federal judge ruled on Thursday to allow same-sex couples to marry in California, starting on August 18, handing another victory to supporters of gay rights in a case that both sides have said is likely to end up in the U.S. Supreme Court.

The joke is people are convinced they need a ballot or judge to tell them if they can be married or not!
I wonder if I they'll issue friendship licenses next. Maybe even bitter-enemy licenses.
These people are probably convinced that they are born and die only because the all-powerful state issues birth and death certificates.
