Pew estimates 340,000 of the 4.3 million newborns in U.S. hospitals in 2008 belonged to illegal immigrant parents. In total, 4 million U.S.-born, citizen children of illegal immigrants currently live in the country, according to the study.

Well DB, I find myself in a catch 22 with them.....they want the American dream without becoming
Americans........to me this is the America where the spoken language is English and the customs are American, in a universal way..........this is what made America what it is, besides, we are getting to many parasites that have nothing to do with the American dream but rather of their dream of living here for free.

the US has destroyed the livelihood of Mexican farmers by selling US agribiz products in Mexico.

so the farmers come north. drugs are involved - drugs that we Americans consume.

i would fix it by doing the following -
* legalize cocaine & heroin. this gives people the freedom to rot & marinate their brains if they so choose.
* abolish NAFTA. stop exporting American corn etc. to Mexico. instant jobs for the farmers.
* give states like Arizona the right to enforce federal immigration laws, now that the people have voted.
* part 2 of that is to allow SF to be a sanctuary city, if they so choose. then they can boycott each other.

No, they come here for the welfare.

They don't earn enough as gardeners and maids to both pay for their own upkeep (illegals get free ER care and labor/delivery, foodstamps, free and reduced lunch for their kids, free schooling, section 8 housing and /or live 7 men in a 2-bedroom apt with all the stress on the plumbing, they don't pay enough in taxes for the wear and tear on the the roads they drive on, and on and on) AND send back their remittances such that remittances from Mexicans in US is Mexico's 2nd LARGEST source of funds after oil exports.
The ONLY way they have enough money to live and send back remittances is because of all the welfare they get courtesy (sic) of U.S. taxpayer.


The drug crime: Mexico is a narco-state because Mexican corruption is endemic. Which is because Mexicans keep reelecting them. Mexico has been a democracy for 150 years. If Mexicans WANTED their gov't to straighten up and fly right, they'd have insisted on it by now. Mexicans have a long tradition of shrugging their shoulders and paying the mordida (bribes) to get stuff done. They laugh when they say things like, "Any politician who retires poor was a poor politician." Such people RECREATE the Mexico they fled when they get here and get power.
