Reid: Build mosque elsewhere
(AP) – 1 hour ago
WASHINGTON — The Senate's top Democrat says a mosque should not be built near the site of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada on Monday became the highest profile Democrat to break with President Barack Obama, who on Friday backed the right for the developers to build a mosque near ground zero.
In a statement, Reid said the first amendment protects freedom of religion and he respects that, but the mosque should be built somewhere else.
Critics have said the location of the mosque is insensitive because the terrorists who struck were Islamic extremists.
Reid is in a tight campaign for re-election in Nevada. His opponent, Republican Sharron Angle, earlier in the day called for Reid to say whether he agreed with Obama.

Sounds like SOP for Harry. The constitution protects ....., but F it, we will just ignore that.
Kudos to our controllers !
They have hit paydirt making this non issue an issue.

He's so desperate for re-election that he threw Obama under the bus on this issue.

Like I posted elsewhere, there is already a mosque three blocks from ground zero.

That one should be demolished.

Perhaps you think it is in bad taste for a mosque to be built near ground zero. I might actually agree with you on that. That's your personal decision to make.
However, the whole question, of whether to "allow" a mosque, is wrong.
Private Property is for Private Use. You can't support that one day and then abdicate it the next. Either you believe in this principle of private property, or you don't.
Get it together.
And don't even get me started about how they're using YOUR racial prejudices to undermime what is essentially an issue of property rights / freedom.
Again, I don't personally think that it is a very nice statement to build a mosque near ground zero - but I also don't think any of us have the capacity to be the decider on the issue unless we own the property in question.

False dichotomy.
I do not believe in absolute "property rights." If own a parcel on a river, can I dump toxic waste onto the bank? It's my beach, right?

Go for it! Your MUSLIM family background certainly diminishes your "objectivity."

If you truly don't know, you have no qualifications to even discuss this issue.

Ive been researching this and thinking a bit more, now Im convinced this was a conspiracy. The USS Arizona was destroyed at Pearl harbor, almost immediately after the War ,plans were made to make a memorial.I have but one question, Why wasnt the area declared a Historic site right afterward/ Because they want to shit stir and keep up the fervor. This Muslim thats raising hell about his rights is a paid pawn,as is Bloomberg.Simply put, NOTHING should be on that site except grass and a plaque. These greedy fucks have been playing everyone for years and want to keep the flames fanned.

In the example below, you wouldn't be pouring toxic chemicals onto "your" beach. You'd be directly pouring them into your neighbors beach, too.
Also, that example is unintelligent.
A better example would be, you have some property. Are you allowed to build a building on it, yes or no?

You know for a fact that I'm not muslim. I'm also not related to anybody muslim. Why are you stating otherwise? I can't possibly believe YOU are objective - you just assume everything, which paints a quick picture of how uninformed you can be. It makes me question everything else you type, because you state it with such assurance, yet you are so factually incorrect. FYI my entire family is Christian, and I personally do not have any religion.

This isn't "just a building." We're not talking about a toy store.

I don't "know for a fact" you're not Muslim or related to Muslims. You like to push in our face your Egyptian background. Are you claiming Egypt is not a Muslim country? ALL of your family were Coptic? I doubt it.

So basically you're saying you believe the government should have the right to swoop in and steal property because of which religion the property owner practices? Or something close to that?
And Christianity has been in Egypt since before Islam was a thing. Yes my entire family is Coptic, at least on my Egyptian side. What's so hard to believe about that?

The community should indeed be able to prevent an enemy installation from being erected in their community, yes.
That goes for synagogues as well, of course.

If this is true, then I apologize.

No, that'd be polluting water that others also have a Right to.
Besides, you don't own the river itself.
Now if you were talking about a pond, wholly upon your property with no runoff to adjacent land, then it might be different.
Property Rights are property Rights.
If you want yours, you have to allow others theirs.

Like I said earlier mention Islam and the Neocons flock.
Lots of these talking points sound like they came straight from the Hannity show.
Personally I am secure in my fundamentals so I don’t care about some building being constructed it’s a building. I don't like Catholics but I could give a rats ass if they wanted to build a church in the middle of Wrigley field. If they own it they should be allowed to build there.

Reid is a premier dooshbag.
And the good news is that he's very vulnerable in this election. I was really disappointed to hear about the RINOs the Republican establishment had picked to run in this election - some dipshit named Tarkanian and another RINO. Then out of nowhere Sharon Angle won the nomination! I couldn't believe it! This woman rocks! Her and Rand Paul are the two most important people that we NEED to make sure get elected this year! Send Sharon a donation today folks, it's that important!

I don't think that just as I don't think that they are our enemies. They are different and have the exact same right to live on this planet just like any other religon.
The people that want us to think that they are our enemies out of hand are the same people that will proffit from us chasing every boogieman that comes along.
War on the Krauts
War on the Krauts/Japs
War on the Commies
War on the drugs
War on the Terror/Muslims
Who proffits?
You find that out you find the real boogieman

The Muslim boogieman has been a threat to Western Civilization since the 7th Century.
I'm advocating chasing them, just kicking their asses out.
