Hey Everyone:
I just purchased what I though was supposed to be a 1956-D MS67 Roosevelt dime but ended up being a 1958-D Roosevelt dime inside that slab.
The slab looks to have no evidence of being opened.
What do you all think?
Is there any value to it? Is the slab a fake? I've seen them before online for sale but I don't know if it's worth trying to sell or should I get refunded.
I paid $15.50 on eBay.
Thanks for any insight.

Would you pay Mercedes Benz price for a Hyundai badged as a Mercedes Benz?

So, do you think they graded the '58 coin that is in the slab as a MS67?
Good to hear the certification number went through.
Thanks a lot.

I think you got taken. I don't think the folks at NGC would make that big of an error. Was the seller from China by chance? They have a higher tendency of manipulating slabs from what I've read.

I understand. Just thought that maybe this Hyundai might have that 24k gold plated interior.
I may just send it back.

Seller is from America with over 1,000 feedbacks at 100%.

I recommend you first reach out to NGC and explain the situation. Next I would contact the seller and demand a refund as I doubt the coin you bought is worth 15 bucks.

Don't send it back! The professional graders make mistakes too and most likely what you have is a real error slab. I saw a PCGS slabbed error cent where they mis-spelled one of the words on the slab. For such a low value coin I would doubt it's a fake from China, I've seen them before so I think you have a genuine error on the slab. If you don't want it, offer it for sale here or put it on ebay as a slab error.

Sounds like great advice, error, querky and mislabeled coins can sometimes pay off better than expected
