There is a popular misconception that the Dutch are an easygoing, tolerant people.


Like many Jews, as a youngster I associated Holland with windmills and tulips and a heroic people which bravely defended Jews during the Nazi occupation.

Alas, I subsequently learned that the record of the Dutch towards the Jews was nothing of the sort. There were tens of thousands of Dutch righteous gentiles who risked their lives to save Jews but there were far more collaborators, over 25,000 of whom even volunteered for the Waffen SS. Overall, the Dutch authorities willingly assisted in the deportation of the Jews. Anne Frank and her family were amongst those denounced to the Nazis. Of the 140,000 Jews living in the Netherlands before the war, over 100,000 were murdered.

Today, there is a popular misconception that the Dutch are an easygoing, tolerant, multi-cultured people.

In truth, Dutch society has become polarized as a consequence of the massive influx of non-Western immigrants, predominantly Muslim, who have shattered social stability. Muslims currently comprise one million out of a 16 million population, a disproportionate number of whom have police records.

Together with indigenous anti- Semites, some radical Muslims have effectively exploited the culture of permissiveness to violently promote their objectives.

Verbal and physical violence has escalated, climaxing in November 2004 with the brutal public street murder in Amsterdam of Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh who was shot and stabbed to death by Mohammed Bouyeri, a Muslim radical.

Although this had a major impact on Dutch society, it did not become the watershed one may have expected. However the status of the 30,000 members of the Jewish community, already subjected to increasing anti- Semitic incitement and violence primarily emanating from the Moroccan Muslim community, continued to deteriorate.

The leading daily newspaper NRC Handelsblad published an article in June stating that anti- Semitism in areas of Amsterdam has become the norm rather than the exception. It identified areas in Amsterdam in which Jews with skullcaps or distinctive garb cannot walk in the streets without being affronted, spat at or even attacked.

In May, an outdoor commemoration ceremony for the last transport of 3,000 Jewish children deported during the Holocaust was disrupted by bikers shrieking “Heil Hitler” during the recitation of Kaddish.

Anti-Semitism also manifests itself in anti-Israel demonstrations where cries of “Hamas Hamas – Jews to the gas”; “Jew cancer”; and “Hitler let one get away!” are frequently heard. Football stadiums have become notorious arenas for anti-Israel and anti-Semitic chants. About half of the registered criminal utterances reported on the internet throughout Holland in 2009 were against Jews. It is believed that if full records were accessible, the proportion would be much higher.

LAST MONTH, the 280-year-old synagogue in Weesp became the first Jewish house of worship in Europe since the war obliged to cancel Sabbath services after the police had warned congregants of threats of violence.

In a recent letter to members of Parliament, the Jewish community stated that anti-Semitism was rampant, noting that the Jewish community is obliged to provide its own security at schools and all public functions, the costs for which have become unbearable.

Surveys among teachers in the major cities indicate that one out of five teachers have difficulties in relating to the Holocaust because of the hostile response from Muslim students. The Chairman of the Orthodox Rabbinate, Binyomin Jacobs, protested that “today there are many schools which simply stop providing lessons relating to WWII and the Holocaust due to fear of negative reactions from pupils from Muslim backgrounds”.

Jewish schoolchildren feel intimidated and the school authorities are either indifferent or unable to assist them. To avoid harassment, some children are obliged to change schools and even hide their Jewish identity.

A few weeks ago a local Jewish TV station (Joodse Omroep) broadcast scenes of anti-Semitic harassment in the streets recorded by a hidden camera which followed a rabbi accompanied by two students. This provided chilling testimony of the intimidation to which Jews are subjected.

In response, the Dutch police announced that they might use “decoy” Jews – police dressed in traditional Jewish garb – to entrap anti-Semitic hooligans. Rabbi Jacobs responded by stating that such initiatives would be futile unless accompanied by greater emphasis on education, stressing that not only Muslims were engaged in anti-Semitic agitation.

“I witness Dutch non-Muslim youngsters also shouting at me in the street” he stated.

Ironically, the major escalation of anti-Semitism in Amsterdam took place between 2001-2010, when Marius Job Cohen, a Jew, was mayor. Cohen’s grandparents were murdered in the Holocaust but he frequently expresses indifference to his Jewish origins. Now as leader of the Dutch Labor party he participates in attacks demonizing Israel as exemplified in the party’s platform in the recent elections.

Such behavior towards Israel is particularly shameful coming from the country whose UN peacekeeping force in 1995 in Srebrenica stood by while 8,000 Bosnian men and boys were massacred by the Serbs (there are reports that some even took part in seperating the women from the men). The Dutch peacekeepers then fled to Zagreb, where they held a beer and music fest in the presence of the crown Prince and the prime minister.

HOWEVER, THERE is now a potential for positive change on the political horizon. At the recent polls, contrary to expectations, the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV) headed by Geert Wilders surged from its pre election nine seats to winning 24 out of the 150 seat Dutch parliament.

Nicknamed Mozart because of his blond hair and voted politician of the year in 2007, Wilders displays contempt for the hypocritical political correctness displayed toward Islam that has enveloped Europe. He resolutely calls for tough action against intimidation and threats from Islamic fundamentalists.

He describes Muslim migrants as a “Trojan Horse” and warns of the danger of Europe being transformed into Eurabia and European civilization coming to an end.

Wilders is an outspoken friend of the Jewish people and considers Israel to be “the West’s first line of defense”. He lived in Israel for two years and has visited the Jewish state more than 40 times.

Contrary to defamatory allegations directed against him, Wilders abhors fascism and publicly condemned politicians like France’s Jean-Marie Le Pen, the late Haider and other racists with whom he swears he would never associate.

His controversial call for the banning of the Koran (which he compares to Mein Kampf and claims incites to violence) and the production of a film depicting the brutality and denial of human rights prevailing in Muslim countries led to his being charged with incitement and hatred. The court proceedings became transformed into a political arena when the judge refused to hear the majority of witnesses Wilders presented.

Should Wilders be convicted of promoting hate speech it will have problematic implications in a country like Holland where calls for “death to the Jews” are regular occurrences and rarely prosecuted.

The trial outcome will also be a curtain raiser on what to expect from other European countries in the years ahead.

You're right about Geert. He is indeed a Zionist pawn. He supports Israel totally in its "existential" war against barbarous and terrorist Islam. He has been there over forty times and spent a year in a kibbutz when he was younger.


Surprisingly enough, he opposed the continuation of the Afghanistan mission, which led to the fall of the cabinet here a couple of weeks ago. But no doubt this was because the mission is deeply unpopular here.


There has been some debate on who finances him. He doesn't disclose this, but he is very popular with the AIPAC/ADL crowd in the US and there are strong reasons to believe they do at least part of the financing.

He has been on Dutch television exclaiming 'we are all Israel' to his Zionist backers in the US. (Click 'bekijk uitzending', go to 3:57). In fact, another party is introducing new legislation to force him to disclose who is behind him.


He likes yelling about the so called 'left' elite that runs the Netherlands. Wouter Bos, Labor Leader, is ex Shell, but these kinds of little details are beyond Geert. He will never question who started importing these Turks and Moroccans in the late sixties, early seventies. They were brought here, because the Dutch were apparently no longer willing to do the dirty jobs: we had full employment in those days. However, price elasticity suggests that when you can get no worker you must raise wages, and that is what our corporate boys did not want to do back then.

Geert is just another agent provocateur, useful idiot hired to lead popular dissent into a blind alley. The Muslims are his bogey men. He foments a race/religion conflict in the Netherlands, for which there is some support, because large scale immigration is facing mounting resentment.


He totally ignores the bankers, even in this time of the Great Crunch.

In this way he clearly supports the NeoCon WW3 agenda, and takes the heat off the bankers.


SUPPORT


He seems to have a solid base of between 15 and 20% of the populace. Not bad, but not quite enough to get real power. In our system, parties are forced to form coalitions to get majorities in Paliament (the "tweede kamer"). He will have to work with the Christian Democrats, who will allow him all sorts of nasty goodies (like forbidding head scarfs for your Muslim girls), but won't make any concessions regarding the EU, NATO, the Police State (which he backs, of course, as a necessary measure to stop the bearded hooligans) etc.

He has a nice style, calling his political opponents 'total idiots'. He has shown himself to be a good survivor, because he gets lambasted by the press here. The main 'quality' newspapers here are brain dead liberal outlets, always so civilized and nuanced. They play their role in declaring him an insult to civilization.

His main merit is, that he has made it politically correct to claim importing foreigners ('multiculturalism') is a farce. It is now reasonable to suggest that the newcomers must adapt and integrate. The day he invites his friends of Jewish Persuasion to do the same would mark the zenith of his political career.

The British did everything they could to give him standing by not allowing him to enter the country a few months back.

Geert is prosecuted for the 'hate crime' of comparing the Q'uran to Mein Kampf. This, of course, only serves to increase his popularity. Even I feel for him when confronted with such nonsense. Whether he is aware of the paradox that his Zionist/ADL/Political Correct masters are behind that bizarre institution is unclear to me.


PRIME MINISTER?


The fact that Geert is now a real contender for Prime Minister in the coming June elections, is not so much his strength, but reflects the rot of the traditional powerhouses, the Christian Democrats (CDA) and Labor (PvdA), whose bases have been eroding severely over the last 15 years and who were almost destroyed by Pim Fortuyn, nine years back.


PvdA and CDA usually have some 35 and 45 seats each, of a total of 150 seats. They will both be dropping below the critical 30 seats, apparently, in the next election. Chances are Geert will get some 30 seats too. The biggest party gets the initiative in the coalition talks and delivers the PM if a coalition can be formed.

When this happens, Geert will be quickly bogged down in the political snake pit that is The Hague, with its endless compromises. As long as he doesn't need to compromise, he has this great Macho allure, but when he gets to wield the axe in the national budget (150 billion for the bankers here, the sick, old and unemployed will have to pay), and is facing all the political infighting related to this nightmare, he will quickly start looking ordinary.

In short: our Geert is not a Jorg Haider (who had an auto "accident" after promising on Austrian TV to smoke out the Ziobankers) and he will enjoy his pension on the shores of Tel Aviv, unless his handlers find it more expedient to have him slaughtered like a pig for public relations purposes. This is what happened to his equally highly intelligent, but simple minded predecessors Pim Fortuyn and Theo van Gogh.

Toward the end of January 2009, Roman Catholic Bishop Williamson, associated with the Society of Saint Pius X, said an interview “I believe that the historical evidence is strongly against — is hugely against — 6 million Jews having been deliberately gassed in gas chambers as a deliberate policy of Adolf Hitler.” An apparent “Jewish leader” who -- according to the CNN headline -- was “outraged” replied with one word: “Rabbi David Rosen of the American Jewish Committee called the move by the Catholic Church [to lift the excommunication of Bishop Williamson] ‘shameful.’”

That sums up the Holocaust and why belief in it persists.

After Bishop Williamson broke the taboo, editorials and quotes professing belief in official Holocaust story appeared in the media. During the first week of February, prodded by who knows who, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, a protestant, released a statement to the press: “the Pope and the Vatican must make it unequivocally clear that there can be no denial that the Holocaust happened.” The Holocaust’s a litmus test for anyone with authority. Chancellor Merkel, with her country sliding into depression, told Pope Benedict that she wants veto authority over Roman Catholic policy and dogma.

PASCAL’S WAGER

“Belief is a wise wager. Granted that faith cannot be proved, what harm will come to you if you gamble on its truth and it proves false? If you gain, you gain all; if you lose, you lose nothing. Wager, then, without hesitation, that He exists.”

Belief in God is different from Holocaust belief: Death reveals the outcome of Pascal’s wager; With the Holocaust, punishment for disbelief is immediate. Along with official expressions of Holocaust belief were calls for Bishop Williamson’s renewed excommunication, banishment, and denunciation of his heresy by the Pope. There can be no positions of authority for disbelievers. After the bishop refused to retract his statements - only promising to review the historical evidence – he was removed as head of a seminary in Argentina and threatened with deportation.

This is the pattern. Once a disbeliever has been identified as being employed by someone that can be publicly, politically pressured, the pressure starts to isolate and discredit the revisionist. This shows belief in the Shoah is very important for several inter-related power structures to maintain. The Shoah has certainly been called the founding myth of Israel, but it’s the founding myth of the modern German republic too. American foreign policy is also dependent on the Hitler paradigm; Nazi analogies are always made when the U.S. State Department threatens another country.

PROFESSION OF FAITH

Group activities promote group cohesion. The rapid punishment of non-conformity discourages questioning of authority. Ritual is established to give insiders the sense of worth and security associated with membership. In hierarchical structures, ritual plays a huge role in establishing authority. Authority is intolerant of anything that undermines its credibility. The Holocaust myth is state-sponsored, foundation-of-the-German-Republic, official. It’s protected like an endangered species in a growing number of countries. As a result, when someone in a position of authority questions the myth, the denunciations come quickly to protect the credibility of those who endorse it.

The ritual is set. And we’ll see it again. It is reminiscent of the scene from Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie when the faerie, Tinkerbell swallows poison intended for Peter. Peter then gets the audience to demonstrate its belief in faeries by clapping to resurrect her. Not clapping would imply complicity in fatacide – the murder of a faerie. Any time the dying Holocaust story is questioned, we must demonstrate our belief by clapping for the gas chambers.

PRAESTET FIDES SUPPLEMENTUM SENSUUM DEFECTUI (Faith supplies what the senses cannot…)

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) defines a belief as an emotionally held opinion that is treated like a fact. NLP deals with methods for changing human behavior through reorganizing the emotions associated with particular stimuli. The sense of smell, for example, is strongly associated with emotions: People smell cookies baking and are put into a good mood. The particular smell is associated with particular memories and emotions. Creating one of these associations is called “anchoring.” It’s like Pavlov’s experiments where dogs associated the ringing of a bell with being fed. The training caused them to salivate when a bell rang whether food was present or not. People create their own anchors, or anchors can be induced.

The Holocaust myth is a belief -- emotionally held opinion treated as fact. Many negative emotions are associated with both the story and any challenge to it. These emotions are intentionally anchored to the story to protect it from challenge. This technique’s demonstrated with Rabbi Rosen’s single word quote: “Shameful.” Shame’s now associated with the tolerance of anyone who doesn’t accept the Shoah as fact. Rabbi Rosen’s just created an anchor re-enforcing the taboo.

People are taught to associate emotions with propaganda. National symbols, for example, are intentionally associated with specific emotions. Children are trained to feel respect when the flag in on display. It enhances credibility and triggers deference to authority. It opens a mental path for the establishment of belief.

Credibility is needed to implant belief. Bishop Williamson should know this since his business is the promulgation of faith. This explains why “Jewish leaders” always attack revisionist credibility -- to protect established belief.

BELIEF VERSUS KNOWLEDGE

A problem with Bishop Williamson’s reply is it’s prefaced with “I believe.” When asked about this topic, tell the interviewer what’s known, and not what’s believed. When he says “I believe,” Bishop Williamson is challenging one set of beliefs with another. That puts him at a disadvantage. Remember, belief is treated as fact. Anyone starting with “I believe” is expressing opinion. When pitting fact against opinion, fact wins.

Bishop Williamson referred to the Leuchter Report and air photos in his reply to the interviewer. While the Leuchter Report provides important information, invoking it is an appeal to authority. The Leuchter Report presents expert opinion. Coming to a conclusion about whether morgues are gas chambers by examining blueprints and reading the label “morgue” instead of “gas chamber” doesn’t take an engineer. It takes little research to know crematory retorts don’t reduce three bodies in fifteen minutes. Despite that, research is avoided since doubt induces guilt and shame.

Revisionists have attempted to show that it’s possible to determine chemically if Zyklon B was used in a room. Revisionists want to verify the eyewitness accounts. Gas chamber thesis defenders reply that any test contradicting eyewitnesses is invalid since the only dependable evidence is testimony. Those relying on the accounts for their belief accept that the stories are true and find the idea they need confirmation offensive.

The Holocaust taboo won’t be dislodged by pitting one set of sources against another. New approaches need to be tried with the knowledge of how people view belief and how emotions anchor their opinion.

The gas chamber story is a clumsy lie. The problem is dislodging the lie will take more than its exposure. Something has to take its place. The true chronology of Auschwitz has to be offered as a choice. Something happened. If it wasn’t genocide, what was it? Revisionism provides seldom-aired answers.

Auschwitz was no secret. Every day the camp SS office radioed headquarters reporting prisoner tallies. The British intercepted some of these transmissions and monitored Auschwitz. In August 1944, the British RAF labeled a request to plan a mission to bomb the gas chambers “fantastic” – and by that they didn’t mean “terrific.”

There was continuous communication between Auschwitz and the outside world up to its evacuation. Packages and letters went in and out. Staff and prisoners came and went. Photos were taken both by people on the ground and in Allied aircraft. International Red Cross inspectors visited Auschwitz as late as September 1944.

In 1940, the Nazi governor of occupied Poland ordered scrap material be collected and sent to processing centers for sorting and reworking. Starting in 1941, Auschwitz processed enormous quantities of old clothes. This is the source of old shoes put on display at the Auschwitz museum, not gas chamber victims.

Lousy scrap material spread typhus through the camp in mid 1942. Typhus is why Zyklon B was at Auschwitz. Prisoners sorting clothes became infested with lice and caught typhus. To stop the epidemic, large fumigation and disinfection facilities were built in late 1942 and during 1943 to sterilize scrap material and delouse prisoners.

The Nazis left the construction office archive when they evacuated. The plans for the Birkenau crematoria were included in it along with a record of their operation and fuel consumption.

Distinguishing morgues from gas chambers by expert inspection is not necessary. There is no doubt that during 1943 the crematories were only disposing of people whose deaths had been recorded by Auschwitz doctors.

The record for 1944 is sketchier. There are no published fuel delivery receipts for that year. With Germany in retreat, coke became unavailable. The dead were cremated with wood instead of coke: An August 1944 British air photo shows smoke in an area close to one crematory. The Red Army found wood stacked in the same area five months later when it occupied Auschwitz.

There was no extermination of Jews at Auschwitz. If it was happening the Allies would have known about it immediately due to the camp’s transparency.

Make no mistake. The Nazi system of prison and work camps, like the Soviet gulag system, is to be condemned. Many Poles, Jews, and others in the Nazi occupied East were displaced, and enslaved. Their property was stolen and communities scattered. There’s nothing admirable about that. Even so, it’s inexcusable to accuse anyone of imaginary crimes.

Revisionists need to replace the conventional Auschwitz narrative with a real one. If that’s not done, the Holocaust belief won’t be supplanted.

GEMATRIA

The second part of the Holocaust myth Bishop Williamson disbelieves is six million Jews were killed.

The number has symbolic significance for Cabalists. Needless to say, the question how many becomes academic once the gas chambers are discredited. Nevertheless, accepting the six million figure implies there was intent to exterminate the Jews. So, addressing the number is important due to this implication.

There’s no quick way to verify or discredit the six million number. Auschwitz and the number of Jews who died there, on the other hand, can be addressed.

In 1989, Pressac published documents concerning Birkenau crematoria operation.

Auschwitz once was where at least 2.5 million Jews died. For the last twenty years, it’s been where a million Jews died. Though other studies estimate lower numbers, one million is used most.

Assume one million people died at Auschwitz in gas chambers between 1941 and 1944. In those four years, how was this carnage distributed?

In March 1943, Dr. Korherr completed his report for Himmler. It states that by the end of 1942 less than 4,500 Jews had died at Auschwitz.

That means the Nazis needed to kill another 995,500 more in the next two years.

The Nazi built “outsized extermination facilities” in 1943. There were problems. Because of mechanical breakdown, all four crematoria never operated at once. The coke delivery receipts show only enough fuel for around 35,000 cremations was delivered that year. Since the crematories were being used to only burn a number close to 1943 recorded deaths, registered camp deaths were all there were. There were 37,000 registered deaths that year. Because they remained a minority at Auschwitz, less than half that died at Auschwitz in 1943 were Jews.

The Nazis neither built nor repaired crematories in 1944. Fuel deliveries stopped. The transparency of the camp increased as Allied aircraft were photographing the area every few days. It’s impossible there was anything close to another 50,000 cremations at Auschwitz that year.

The number of Jews who died at Auschwitz was somewhere around forty thousand, but none died in the Holocaust as commonly defined. Forty thousand is horrible, but isn’t genocide.

There are two counter-arguments to the use of registered deaths to count Jewish deaths at Auschwitz: The deaths of practically all Jews went unrecorded; there is testimony gassings started as early as autumn 1941 and continued until November 1944.

Claiming official policy kept these events unrecorded isn’t evidence. It’s an excuse. Testimony alone is worthless.

There’s no callous intention here. A death is no less tragic when it’s not part of an official government genocide program. But, as part of a government program, a death becomes exploitable.

This is why we must demonstrate belief in the Holocaust. Deborah Lipstadt explained that the Holocaust was different from the other government mass murders – like Stalin’s – because they were indiscriminant killings of political enemies while Hitler killed members of an identifiable group – Jews. Therefore, Jews not killed by Hitler could claim victim status and as victims seek compensation. If the Shoah becomes discredited, the status of Jews as victims is as well.

It’s high time people stopped believing in Nazi gas chambers. It’s as silly as believing in faeries.

Back in 2007 the notorious American Jewish right-wing organization, the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) announced that it recognised the events in which an estimated 1.5 million Armenians were massacred as "genocide (http://www.adl.org/PresRele/Mise_00/5114_00.htm)." The ADL's national director, Abraham Foxman, insisted that he made the decision after discussing the matter with ‘historians’. For some reason he failed to mention who the historians were, nor did he refer to their credibility or field of scholarship. However, Foxman also consulted with one holocaust survivor who supported the decision. It was Elie Wiesel, not known for being a leading world expert on the Armenian ordeal.

The idea of a Zionist organization being genuinely concerned, or even slightly moved, by other people’s suffering could truly be a monumental transforming moment in Jewish history. How is it that an event that took place a century ago is causing such a furor? One day it is generally classified as ‘genocide’, the next, it is demoted to an ordinary instance of one man killing another. Was it an ‘historical document’ that, out of nowhere, popped out on Abe Foxman’s desk? Are there some new factual revelations that led to such a dramatic historical shift? l don’t think so.

The ADL’s behaviour is a glimpse into the notion of Jewish history and the Jewish understanding of the past. For the nationalist and political Jew, history is a pragmatic tale, it is an elastic account. It is foreign to any scientific or academic method. Jewish history transcends itself beyond factuality, truthfulness or correspondence rules with any given vision of reality. It also repels integrity or ethics. It by far prefers total submission, instead of creative and critical thinking. Jewish history is a phantasmic tale that is there to make the Jews happy and the Goyim behave themselves. It is there to serve the interests of one tribe and that tribe only. In practice, from a Jewish perspective, the decision whether there was an Armenian genocide or not is subject to Jewish interests: is it good for the Jews or is it good for Israel.

Interestingly enough, history is not a particularly ‘Jewish thing’. It is an established fact that not a single Jewish historical text has been written between the 1st century (Josephus Flavius) and early 19th century (Isaak Markus Jost). For almost 2 thousand years Jews were not interested in their own or anyone else’s past, at least not enough to chronicle it. As a matter of convenience, an adequate scrutiny of the past was never a primary concern within the Rabbinical tradition. One of the reasons is probably that there was no need for such a methodical effort. For the Jew who lived during ancient times and the Middle Ages, there was enough in the Bible to answer the most relevant questions to do with day-to-day life, Jewish meaning and fate. As Israeli historian Shlomo Sand puts it, “a secular chronological time was foreign to the ‘Diaspora time’ that was shaped by the anticipation for the coming of the Messiah.”

However, in the mid 19th century, in the light of secularisation, urbanisation, emancipation and due to the decreasing authority of the Rabbinical leaders, an emerging need of an alternative cause rose amongst the awakening European Jews. All of a sudden, the emancipated Jew had to decide who he was and where he came from. He also started to speculate what his role might be within the rapidly opening Western society.

This is where Jewish history in its modern form was invented. This is also where Judaism was transformed from a world religion into a ‘land registry’ with some clearly devastating racially orientated and expansionist implications. As we know, Shlomo Sand’s account of the ‘Jewish Nation’ as a fictional invention is yet to be challenged academically. However, the dismissal of factuality or commitment to truthfulness is actually symptomatic of any form of contemporary Jewish collective ideology and identity politics. The ADL’s treatment of the Armenian topic is just one example. The Zionist’s dismissal of a Palestinian past and heritage is just another example. But in fact any Jewish collective vision of the past is inherently Judeo-centric and oblivious to any academic or scientific procedure.

When I was Young

When I was young and naïve I regarded history as a serious academic matter. As I understood it, history had something to do with truth seeking, documents, chronology and facts. I was convinced that history aimed to convey a sensible account of the past based on methodical research. I also believed that it was premised on the assumption that understanding the past may throw some light over our present and even help us to shape a prospect of a better future. I grew up in the Jewish state and it took me quite a while to understand that the Jewish historical narrative is very different. In the Jewish intellectual ghetto, one decides what the future ought to be, then one constructs ‘a past’ accordingly. Interestingly enough, this exact method is also prevalent amongst Marxists. They shape the past so it fits nicely into their vision of the future. As the old Russian joke says, “when the facts do not conform with the Marxist ideology, the Communist social scientists amend the facts (rather than revise the theory)”.

When I was young, I didn’t think that history was a matter of political decisions or agreements between a rabid Zionist lobby and its favorite holocaust survivor. I regarded historians as scholars who engaged in adequate research following some strict procedures. When I was young I even considered becoming an historian.

When I was young and naive I was also somehow convinced that what they told us about our ‘collective’ Jewish past really happened. I believed it all, the Kingdom of David, Massada, and then the Holocaust: the soap, the lampshade*, the death march, the six million.

As it happened, it took me many years to understand that the Holocaust, the core belief of the contemporary Jewish faith, was not at all an historical narrative for historical narratives do not need the protection of the law and politicians. It took me years to grasp that my great-grandmother wasn’t made into a ‘soap’ or a ‘lampshade’*. She probably perished out of exhaustion, typhus or maybe even by mass shooting. This was indeed bad and tragic enough, however not that different from the fate of many millions of Ukrainians who learned what communism meant for real. “Some of the worst mass murderers in history were Jews” writes Zionist Sever Plocker on the Israeli Ynet disclosing the Holodomor and Jewish involvement in this colossal crime, probably the greatest crime of the 20th century. The fate of my great-grandmother was not any different from hundreds of thousands of German civilians who died in an orchestrated indiscriminate bombing, because they were Germans. Similarly, people in Hiroshima died just because they were Japanese. 1 million Vietnamese died just because they were Vietnamese and 1.3 million Iraqis died because they were Iraqis. In short the tragic circumstances of my great grandmother wasn’t that special after all.

It Doesn’t make sense

It took me years to accept that the Holocaust narrative, in its current form, doesn’t make any historical sense. Here is just one little anecdote to elaborate on:

If, for instance, the Nazis wanted the Jews out of their Reich (Judenrein - free of Jews), or even dead, as the Zionist narrative insists, how come they marched hundreds of thousands of them back into the Reich at the end of the war? I have been concerned with this simple question for more than a while. I eventually launched into an historical research of the topic and happened to learn from Israeli holocaust historian professor Israel Gutman that Jewish prisoners actually joined the march voluntarily. Here is a testimony taken from Gutman’s book

"One of my friends and relatives in the camp came to me on the night of the evacuation and offered a common hiding place somewhere on the way from the camp to the factory. …The intention was to leave the camp with one of the convoys and to escape near the gate, using the darkness we thought to go a little far from the camp. The temptation was very strong. And yet, after I considered it all I then decided to join (the march) with all the other inmates and to share their fate " (Israel Gutman [editor], People and Ashes: Book Auschwitz - Birkenau, Merhavia 1957).

I am left puzzled here, if the Nazis ran a death factory in Auschwitz-Birkenau, why would the Jewish prisoners join them at the end of the war? Why didn’t the Jews wait for their Red liberators?

I think that 65 years after the liberation of Auschwitz, we must be entitled to start to ask the necessary questions. We should ask for some conclusive historical evidence and arguments rather than follow a religious narrative that is sustained by political pressure and laws. We should strip the holocaust of its Judeo-centric exceptional status and treat it as an historical chapter that belongs to a certain time and place

65 years after the liberation of Auschwitz we should reclaim our history and ask why? Why were the Jews hated? Why did European people stand up against their next door neighbours? Why are the Jews hated in the Middle East, surely they had a chance to open a new page in their troubled history? If they genuinely planned to do so, as the early Zionists claimed, why did they fail? Why did America tighten its immigration laws amid the growing danger to European Jews? We should also ask for what purpose do the holocaust denial laws serve? What is the holocaust religion there to conceal? As long as we fail to ask questions, we will be subjected to Zionists and their Neocons agents’ plots. We will continue killing in the name of Jewish suffering. We will maintain our complicity in Western imperialist crimes against humanity.

As devastating as it may be, at a certain moment in time, a horrible chapter was given an exceptionally meta-historical status. Its ‘factuality’ was sealed by draconian laws and its reasoning was secured by social and political settings. The Holocaust became the new Western religion. Unfortunately, it is the most sinister religion known to man. It is a license to kill, to flatten, to nuke, to wipe, to rape, to loot and to ethnically cleanse. It made vengeance and revenge into a Western value. However, far more concerning is the fact that it robs humanity of its heritage, it is there to stop us from looking into our past with dignity. Holocaust religion robs humanity of its humanism. For the sake of peace and future generations, the holocaust must be stripped of its exceptional status immediately. It must be subjected to thorough historical scrutiny. Truth and truth seeking is an elementary human experience. It must prevail.

*During WWII and after it was widely believed that soaps and lampshades were being mass produced from the bodies of Jewish victims. In recent years the Israeli Holocaust museum admitted that there was no truth in any of those accusations.

Fears that the German police force contains neo-Nazi sympathisers have been sparked after disdainful cadets delivered an extraordinary rebuff to a Holocaust survivor.

Students at the Berlin police academy refused to listen to the harrowing testimony of Isaak Behar, 83, who had been invited to lecture them on his experiences as a Jew in the Third Reich. Mr Behar lost his parents and his two sisters in the Auschwitz concentration camp.

The cadets shouted that they did not want to hear about the Holocaust any more, and said that the Jewish community was emotionally blackmailing Germany, according to German press reports. Dieter Glietsch, Berlin's police commissioner, has opened an investigation.

German police officers are given compulsory Holocaust-awareness training. Visits to sites where Nazis murdered or deported Jews are part of the curriculum.

Mr Behar and other Jewish survivors frequently lecture at police and army colleges. "There have always been antiSemitic incidents in the army as well as the police," said Mr Behar. "But senior officers take action when they hear of them."

This episode, though, which occurred on Feb 27, is seen as part of a broader and more menacing trend. Last month it was revealed that at least three police bodyguards assigned to protect Michael Friedman, a leading Jewish activist, were neo-Nazi sympathisers.

One dressed in his free time in a black SS uniform and put photographs of himself on the internet. Another printed out a fake certificate declaring himself to be a member of the SS "M.F" Division - M.F. being the intitals of Michael Friedman, who was for many years the deputy chairman of the German Jewish community. The wording of the certificate began: "In the Name of the Führer..." mimicking a genuine SS document.

Yet another police guard stored the Nazi anthem, the Horst Wessel song, on his computer and played it out loud when colleagues were in the room. The policemen claimed that they were no more than harmless pranks.

But Mr Friedman, who has received many death threats because of his vociferous support for Jewish causes, is taking the case seriously.

He has demanded a parliamentary inquiry from the state of Hesse, which is responsible for protecting him. According to the mass circulation newspaper Bild, one of the investigated bodguards threatened "to spill the beans about far-right activity at Frankfurt police headquarters" if charges were pressed against him.

The bodyguards have been suspended from duty. The German press and Police Workers' Association have called for their dismissal from the force.

"These incidents show that far-right thinking is now anchored in the mainstream of German society," said Mr Friedman, "and it is increasingly obvious in the police force".

That sentiment was echoed by Andreas Nachama, a leading rabbi. "This antisemitism is appearing everywhere and it is as threatening as it is reprehensible."

Insiders say that police antisemitism is usually more discreet, confined to comments at the police station after a stint of duty.

The guarding of Jewish sites, from synagogues to the Jewish Museum in Berlin, is particularly unpopular among the police rank-and-file. Their task is to head off neo-Nazi attacks or report antisemitic symbols daubed on buildings overnight.

He resolutely calls for tough action against intimidation and threats from Islamic fundamentalists.

He describes Muslim migrants as a “Trojan Horse” and warns of the danger of Europe being transformed into Eurabia and European civilization coming to an end.

Wilders is an outspoken friend of the Jewish people and considers Israel to be “the West’s first line of defense”. He lived in Israel for two years and has visited the Jewish state more than 40 times.

Contrary to defamatory allegations directed against him, Wilders abhors fascism and publicly condemned politicians like France’s Jean-Marie Le Pen, the late Haider and other racists with whom he swears he would never associate.

His controversial call for the banning of the Koran (which he compares to Mein Kampf and claims incites to violence) and the production of a film depicting the brutality and denial of human rights prevailing in Muslim countries led to his being charged with incitement and hatred. The court proceedings became transformed into a political arena when the judge refused to hear the majority of witnesses Wilders presented.

Should Wilders be convicted of promoting hate speech it will have problematic implications in a country like Holland where calls for “death to the Jews” are regular occurrences and rarely prosecuted.

The trial outcome will also be a curtain raiser on what to expect from other European countries in the years ahead.

In March, for instance, the ministry banned Israeli schools from distributing a booklet for children about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Critics had objected to parts of the declaration that refer to freedom of religion and protection of asylum-seekers.

The ministry’s latest move involves the controversies that still swirl over the events that led to the creation of the Jewish state in 1948 – what Israelis describe as their “War of Independence” and what Palestinians call the nakba, Arabic for “catastrophe”.

Eitan Bronstein, Zochrot’s director, said the ministry was trying to “frighten off” teachers from learning about a period in Israel’s history that until now, he said, had been presented in schools only from a “triumphalist perspective”.

The group, which was founded eight years ago and whose Hebrew name means “remembering”, has provoked controversy by organising visits to some of the hundreds of Palestinian villages destroyed by the Israeli army during and after the 1948 war.

Zochrot members place signposts at the former villages using their original Arabic names, and bring Palestinian refugees back on visits, upsetting Jewish residents who live in communities built on those lands.

In recent months, Zochrot has concentrated on developing a programme on the nakba for schools, allowing teachers to address the subject from a Palestinian perspective for the first time.

Mr Bronstein said more than 300 high school teachers had asked for Zochrot’s information kits over the past year, and a few primary school teachers had started to show an interest too. That has provoked a backlash from education officials and right-wing groups.

“A small but growing number of teachers are curious about the nakba and want to find out more,” he said. “The problem is that the education authorities see this development as threatening and are prepared to intimidate teachers to stop them from getting involved.”

Last week’s workshop was the first Zochrot had arranged for primary school teachers.

Hebrew textbooks focus chiefly on the success of Israel’s troops during the 1948 war. The books say that the 750,000 refugees either left voluntarily or were ordered to leave by Arab armies. Most historians now say that Israeli troops either physically expelled the Palestinians or frightened them so much that they fled.

In 2006 an Israeli historian, Ilan Pappe, published a popular book in English – but little read inside Israel – that went farther, arguing that Israel had implemented a military plan to “ethnically cleanse” Palestinians even before Israel’s founders declared statehood.

A year later Yuli Tamir, the dovish education minister, provoked public outrage by approving for the first time the use of the word “nakba” in an Arabic textbook for the quarter of the school population who belong to the country’s Palestinian minority.

The book was banned last summer by Mr Saar, Ms Tamir’s successor.

Mr Saar has also backed legislation to punish groups and individuals who commemorate the nakba. The bill, which enjoys wide support, is working its way through the parliament.

Zochrot’s kit includes teaching units on life among Palestinians before and after the 1948 war, personal stories from refugees, a tour of a destroyed village, and a discussion of the refugees’ right of return.
