Sorry folks! I changed an internal password, and we lost connection today. I was trying to check-out the issues we are having, and had to change the password to get access to phpMyAdmin, which I hope can help me find any errors in the database.

A little bird came back from the past and gave me a php program that allowed me to solve the problem ;) !

Also, sorry it took so long. I was not on all afternoon and early evening. When I got home from work and ate dinner, I tried to log on and couldn't get on.

I actually changed some passwords a week or so ago. This may have been the reason the site was running slow. I changed the passwords through my hosting interface, whcih may not translate correctly. Things are pretty snappy now. Let's see what happens tomorrow when things get back up to speed.

In also backed up the database earler today. This may have caused the problem (agani through my hosint interface). I need to do it more directly.

You betcha. I just added a couple of updates to the Mystery Tour (http://gold-silver.us/forum/general-discussion/the-mystery-tour/) thread. The last one is a doozy, and good for at least a couple of good, hearty laughs. I couldn't wait to write it. So glad you got this baby back up and running tonight while everything was still so fresh in my mind.

I thought for sure the site had been "GIM'd" after being down for so long.

Relieved it is still here, and may it stay here for many, many more moons.

I was beginning to worry that the FBI took GSUS down because I posted my rant about one of their operatives. If I have an accident or heart attack or drown in my pool, just remember that:

1) I am not suicidal
2) I am in good health
3) I swim well and can stand up in all parts of my pool
4) I have a great driving record after millions of miles in US & Germany
5) I treat all weapons as loaded and dangerous
6) I don't eat wild mushrooms
7) I don't take any injections

Unfortunately, there is a carbon monoxide leak in your house. So tragic.

I do have carbon monoxide(and smoke) detectors with fresh batteries.

I will be implementing interlocking fields of fire with the new laser cannons I built to coincide with the infrared and sonic motion detectors. All the alligators in the moat are healthy and kept appropriately hungry- as are the attack dogs.

I do have one weakness- my meteor shield is not working right now. So if a large meteor happens to hit me, I might get scratched. Since I don't attract precious metals that easily, it would probably be a lighter silicon meteor that got close.

Spectrism, you have been selected for a tragic boating accident, in the restricted area of the Macondo well. Most likely you, your boat, and all your PM holdings will be an integral part of the concrete dome, by accident of course.

The statistics on this site, is clear, tragic boating accidents are very common in this group of people.

No canoing... off my list. I might have a heart attack or get hypothermia if I canoe.

I did have a boating accident back inthe foolish days when I had a couple pieces of silver. Blamed stupid of me to have my silver collection with me too. Now I am just too poor to have anything of value, but I will defend it with copper jacketed lead and smokeless powder... if my alligators or dogs don't do the job.

My gut feeling tells me that there will be more "boating accidents" as the Federal gov't gets bigger.

Yes- It is getting to be a valid concern that government "take-downs" and unfortunate suicides will become commonplace. When they shut down certain web sites so that they have no trumpetted warnings or alarms going off, then we go into underground mode.

BTW- develop a randomized code system with family and friends. I have figured out a couple ways to communicate that cannot be decoded. That code may not be shared with other groups. One code- one group.

Actually last night I was considering starting a thread proposing a back up site, like GLP or somewhere where we could go to regroup in the event of a GSUS SHTF event. (in other words Uncle Sugar shutdown)I know many of you have friends and have created your own backup sites or email but I was thinking for the entire membership with a Pin posted like "In the event of failure members should seek out one another at WWW.XXXXXX.com any ideas or is this dumb?

I think that it was Tallships (GIM1 userame) that created a "backup site" for posters to go to in the event that the GIM1 servers went down.

Even though I've never used it before, there is still the gsus tinychat which is hosted on another site.

Seems as though that'd be the first place to check if this site ever went down again.

That's a good idea, except everyone forgets that it's there, and nobody has the link saved (even as easy as it is to remember). So here, everybody, save this link to your bookmarks, and lets all chat when we get scared like we did last night. http://tinychat.com/gsus/

You should try clicking on that tinychat one Sunday evening around 8 to 10. :)

I found it and I've never even been there before.
i.e. google is your friend. {sometimes anyways}

I'm not really big on "chatting", but I might give it a try.
It's just that I'm not a fast typer and chat conversations with multiple people tend to leave me in the dust.
Especially if others are using internet shorthand. {or whatever the name for improper grammar on-line is}

Some of the chatters are fast typers and I am not one of those very fast typers but what helps me is that I can read the chats fast enough to keep up with most of the chat conversation.

Most of us write in full blown English while in chat. Sometimes we even use complete sentences. ;D
