The full body scanners are old news - though I found it interesting the that the author would include PMs as a reason for the airport scanners (in addition to the usual guns, drugs, bombs, etc...)
First two paragraphs:
Just in time for the Labor Day rush, San Diego International Airport’s Terminal 1 will be equipped with full-body scanners, according to the federal Transportation Safety Administration.
The equipment screens passengers for concealed objects made of metal, high-tech plastic or ceramic as well as drugs, precious metals and other secreted contraband materials, according to the machine’s supplier, Rapiscan Systems.

Now smugglers will have to wade across the Rio Grande to evade detection - I wonder if anyone has ever tried to cross the border illegally by sneaking over the river?
;D
