An epitaph is a short text engraved on a tombstone honoring the dead.

An epithet is a descriptive term. In modern times, it commonly refers to an insult based on race.

My first inclination was to thank you, I am the only one using that term a few times.

But ... , am I am right or wrong ? I did read a lot, I don't use the term though other than on here.

It is more than swearing, we all do it, including me. lol

ep·i·taph (ěp’ĭ-tāf’)
n.
1. An inscription on a tombstone in memory of the one buried there. 2. A brief literary piece commemorating a deceased person.——
ep·i·thet (ěp’ə-thět’)
n. 2. An abusive or contemptuous word or phrase.

Then again, seems many are confused too, it is not something you hear often,

Epithet is probably right though, thanks for the correction,
one dictionary says so as well above.

example,

Just having some fun with you.

"Epithet" is the word you are looking for. You're not the only one though. I've seen it several other times on this forum and elsewhere.

Okay, here is an epitaph.

The code reads, " for you " . Pretty scary Lucifer lover buried there.
