Citing Jewish law as his source (or at least a very selective interpretation of it) he declared: “There is justification for killing babies if it is clear that they will grow up to harm us, and in such a situation they may be harmed deliberately, and not only during combat with adults.”

Muslims use exactly this argument as to why it is acceptable to suicide bomb any children or other civilians in Israel - they might at some point be fighting you, even if it is 18 years down the road; therefore they are part of the military and can legitimately targeted.

Dr Kamal El-Helbawy, the founder of the Muslim Association of Britain, told a discussion program that, while he condemned the killing of civilians, he believed all Israeli children were "future soldiers".

He said: "A child born in Israel is raised on the belief that the Arabs are like contemptible sheep.

"In elementary school they pose the following math problem - 'In your village, there are 100 Arabs. If you killed 40, how many Arabs would be left for you to kill?'. This is taught in the Israeli curriculum."

I have no idea if El-Helbawy is accurate in his statements about the Israeli curriculum, however, I think this article shows my original contention (all children are future soldiers and can be legitimately targeted) can be supported.
