I could have told them that... I tried cocaine (didn't like it!) almost 2 years before I ever SAW a joint! ;)
The study concludes that socioeconomic status is the biggest predictor of hard drug use, not previous weed smokeage.
P.S. I'm personally of the opinion that Alcohol is the biggest "gateway drug" of them all... based on my own experiences.

Agree!
The problem is since it is illegal it is sold thru the same channels as the
harder stuff. So that makes it much easer for some to move into the
bad stuff. If it were legal that would not happen.
Still , Have fond memorys of walking through cow pastures on early mornings
hunting the elusive schroom.

1. Some people will always use cannabis.
The fact that it is illegal, means that these people have to establish connections with drug dealers to get cannabis.
The drug dealer sometimes has access to harder drugs and will try to push those too.
If cannabis were legal, this situation could not occur. Prohibition forces normal people to make sometimes make contacts in the criminal underbelly.

Why is it illegal? So that they same Brits and Americans who made all that money from the Opium Wars can make it all over again. You think the dealers on the street are the ones making the money?
