About two hours ago a 24 inch gas main exploded in a fireball in a neighborhood just above San Francisco International Airport. As of now the count is 45 homes destroyed but no one will know until morning when the smoke and fog clears. FAA and SFO tower confirm it was not an aircraft. All power has been cut off and mutual fire aid has been called in from counties around the bay area. Hundreds left homeless. More coverage here:

This is going to be bad - the entire neighborhood around the Rollingwood area of San Bruno Avenue below Interstate 280 is now involved. Mutual aid from as far away as Mendocino County, including Cal Fire and other agencies beyond the nine Bay Area counties. Air drops still going on in the dark, and firefighters have just now pulled back to work the perimeter, basically giving up on everything inside the fire line. Live coverage on local television non-stop. Initial fireball at onset now estimated was over 100 ft. tall - heat is so intense it is being picked up by satellite maps being shown by the weatherman. San Bruno is the new Dresden - unbelievable.

I used to commute through that area.
It's saddening to see images of what occurred on television.

There are plenty of White people affected by this. NOW is not the time for racial discussions. Really. Coming from me, that should weigh double.

No matter who the victim, you should be safe in your home. Sorry Californians, we all know we never get to go more than 6 months without a disaster.

I'm not talking about WHO is living there. I am talking about who is likely to be in the city council, the department of planning, and who is likely to be hired by PG&E in that area. The joos get an enormous amount of weight i discussions here. But in local politics, when the third worlders get control of a city, PROBLEMS always come. Could it be just an accident? yes. But people need to ask themselves the question. What would you want? 100% whitey running PG&E, or 100% mexicans and other minorities? its not baskin robbins where it doesnt matter if a darkie works there or not. The gas supply is serious business.

Profits Going Elsewhere (PG&E) is the quintessential CRAPITALIST corporation. Most of the PG&E engineers and skilled labor ARE White (my kids' Scandinavian grandfather was a career PG&E welder). Only the field crews that do dirty work or "home inspections" are significantly non-White.
PG&E simply IGNORED residents' complaints of gas odors, for days at least. For the Crapitalist, profits v. safety are always a "bottom line" assessment. Too much "cost" involved to actually take complaints seriously. Now, they have an ever bigger cost. A LOT bigger. The PG&E spokesgoon last night kept maneuvering around taking responsibility, despite the fact PG&E is clearly at fault. They should have just come out and said "we will take care of everyone, and make them whole, as much as possible." (considering there are FATALITIES, fully is impossible)
