Yep!

Tho , still it is on a slippery slope and will slide back.
Now when the world realizes that it is getting rarer and
in say 25 years the new mined silver will run out.

And then it will have to be recycled more than now,
it will go past the moon price wise.

What kind of a world would it be with silver at $600.00 an ounce as the web bots forecast?

Damn a loaf of bread would be around $60.00.

Now that is a scary thought.

I always have liked seeing silver move without Golds help. :)

With the significant drop in the dollar today. I am surprised gold was stagnant.

The Asia market might be interesting tonight.

from the Tues/7th to today, Mon Sept 13 2010.

The forum messes up the images, click view image, save it on your hard drive,
with charts that correspond, compare, etc,

When they decide to drop it, it does not matter what the dollar is doing,
it does not even matter if it is the beginning of WWIII, we have seen over
the years far more blatant events to gold where the metals drop hard ,
not just go sideways, I was a reader of LeMetro, the COT chart is the
over riding event that determines prices, nothing else, not the dollar,
not a war, not fundamentals, etc, the masters at LeMetro documented
all of this in 2006, and confirmed over and over, over the last few years,
start a war and gold drops hard, bad macro FED news,
gold goes to new lows in a matter of days, etc, etc , these are not my
opinions, I gave you one reference, the key one. You people remember
Labor day 2006, lol, later in 2008, etc. This year was looking at lot like
those years, they know we are watching, etc, they left TOCOM cause
we are watching, and doing our own analysis, again LeMetro, join for
free, see the analysis for yourselves.

No, it's not a PM site :]

I sold off some nice properties in 2003 and put it into silver. I thought it was a pretty good move from $4.86 to $21...then it crashed below $8, and so did my passion for the metal. It's starting to feel ok again, but this time I'm probably going to do another business startup and put some of it to work.

I think we will see a move through the fall...after that, watch out below.

$600 silver does not portend $60 bread. If corn went into severe shortage, would the dollar fall out of bed. No.

$60 dollar silver does portend one fvck'n happy bellevuebully though.

What does it portend?

Personally i'm in the deflation camp, except for necessities.

That would be food, fuel, water.

IMO a meteoric rise in the price of PM's would signal strength in commodities and weakness in paper based assets.

The harvest in this country is far from being in the bin and accounted for.

A major shortfall of grain on top of what we are already seeing and it's going to take a lot more dollars to put food on the table.

[b]I would like to challenge this common idea...
I do think silver is going to the moon and have been all in since 2005 but just because silver goes to the moon does not mean that everything is going to rise proportionately.

I believe that silver is rarer than gold and will rise 5 to 20'time faster than gold.

Silver is the first mineral that the Usgs predicts could become extinct , whets and flourcan be created but silver has been trashed since the crime of 1873.

When the facade is broken and the manipulation of naked shorts an illusionary ETF and a fiat dollar collapse silver purchasing power will buy multiple of more bread than it does today.

Yeah actually I think that silver can hit 21. Will it hit $21 by the end of this week? I think that silver will hit $21 by either the end of this month or at the beginning of next month. Just my gut feeling. We will see what happens. I think that silver will ultimately finish at $23 (or higher) on December 31, 2010.

Were going to have a run here. 21 is nothing, we'll see high 20's before the year is out...then, it will be taken back in a split second. If you can wait about 60 years, it will be a generational home run ;]

Nope. I am not sick and I am in good shape health wise so far , however, I do not plan to live to be 137 years old. I think that it will take 100 years from the current year for silver to reach $600/oz. Then again, I have been wrong in the past and the current stupidity of the gov't will probably move up the timetable of silver going to $600. Heck, silver could be $600 within 10 years for all I know but my gut feeling tells me that it is going to take a very long time (100+ years) for silver to reach $600/oz. We will see what happens in the future.

However, I do like where silver is right now currently at $20.30 (as of 8:27 AM U.S. Eastern Standard Time). ;D ;D

Art,

You are underestimating the effect of a supply shortage on a commodity with inelastic supply fundies. Not saying 600 anytime soon, but anything is possible when the well runs dry.

Fair enough. I would also have to say that I am probably also underestimating the effect of a deteriorating dollar and that could also rapidly move up the timetable for much higher price levels of silver but probably not $600 but then again, anything is certainly possible. I have been wrong before.

Hey Awoke,

Yea, I have not been spending much time here lately. I enjoy finance, gardening and self sufficiency topics in these forums, and truthfully, gsus has morphed into something a little different than what I am looking for in a home base. Whatever though.....there is still a lot of good content here I like to peruse, and obviously, a lot of good folks.

Yes, silver and gold look pretty hot. After 10 years though, it'll take a lot more than 20 bucks to get me all giddy. I'll start getting giddy at 30. I don't really care what gold hits though.....truthfully, for all our sakes, the lower the better. But that being said, it'll probably hit 6000 before this is said and done.

If silver can continue to advance upward, then I think that silver's next battle will be the intra-day high of $21.44 that was reached in March 2008. Just a guess on my part.
