The protestor who burned pages from the Koran outside a planned mosque near Ground Zero was fired from NJ Transit over the controversial act, sources and authorities said yesterday.

Derek Fenton's 11-year career at the agency came to an abrupt halt Monday after photographs of him ripping pages from the Muslim holy book and setting them ablaze appeared in newspapers.

Fenton was ushered from the protests by police and questioned, but he was released without charges.

"He said this is America, and he wanted to stand up for it, in a Tea Party kind of way," a police source said.

Derek Fenton was there for the cameras, intentionally creating false anger, and did not seem convincing in his presence or actions. It can be wrapped in the 1st Amendment all you want, but his actions smacked of aping whatever talk radio host he listens to for his ideas and perspectives. Now he's exposed, has nowhere to go, and has a fatwa on his head for being a narcissist. That hardly strikes me as an accomplishment, nor does it express the realities of 9/11 being orchestrated by shadow operatives. The fact he since regrets his actions only validates he was a thrill seeker and not thinking with a legitimate conviction.
