Election season is coming nigh again so we are again finding political ads and rhetoric increasing. Gov likes to beat the bushes to get out the most votes possible yet as a result of all this voting nothing ever really seems to change for the better. I thought I would bring up the issue of accountability again.

If you cast your ballot in an election you are giving up your right to complain about the performance of a politician. His oath is given to the members of the body politic who do not choose to exercise the elective franchise. The ones who do vote agree to abide by the outcome of the election.

So either the politician you voted for got in office or the politician you didn't vote for got in office. Either way you have no standing to hold him accountable for his actions while in office.

Now the flip side. Say you rescinded your voter registration and fail to vote. Someone is going to take office. You don't really care whether the occupant is democrat, republican or gheko. You do care that his performance be according to the specifications for the job ... the constitution for that body politic. If he fails to perform properly then that is why he has a bond ... to protect the political society from causing an action that damages someone.

Feeling damaged by one of these politicos? Go after their bond. But don't try it if you VOTED. Your vote is your consent to be governed.

Why are Governments instituted? ...... To secure certain unalienable rights.
Where do Governments derive their just powers? .... From the consent of the governed.
How do you consent to be governed? ....
