I've used Kcast (http://www.kitco.com/kcastwindows/) on my normal PC for live PM quotes (gold, silver, platinum and palladium prices in the system tray), but recently started to use a windows 7 computer on which Kcast doesn't work. So found an alternative (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/14229/), only works on firefox as it's a firefox addon, does the same thing as Kcast but you can add industrial metals (copper, zinc, lead, nickel and aluminium) and a USDX quote. Sits in the bottom line of the browser. both use kitco as their price engine.

Cool, thanks for the link! I have a smart phone running the android OS, and there's a kitco precious metals prices app (http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/finance/kitco-precious-metal-prices_giwv.html) for android that gives you real time prices and charts.

I use the APMEX app on my phone, and click on it every 30 seconds.

I have a smart phone (Palm Pixi) that has internet access. I have kitco.com bookmarked on my phone and if I need to look at current gold and silver prices, then I can pull up the kitco.com page on my phone. I use Kcast on my home computer.

I use XE Currency Converter (http://www.xe.com/mobile/) on my BlackBerry (http://www.xe.com/blackberry/) phone. It's handy because you can plug in different metals and different currencies and easily switch between them. Seeing the G/S ratio is a cinch with this app.

Looking for a good source for price of Gold/Silver in AUD.

I started visiting goldprice.org and so far I think it's pretty good. I don't see the kitco tickers here and elsewhere because of ad blocking.

After a few days of just looking I've stated messing about. The charts are good. You can see short or long - 20 years time scale. You can click anywhere on the price line and see a summary of the price action at that point. Easy to change to silver or change time lines etc.

Also has an app. Multiple platform. I have not tried the app yet. The app is so so. Confusing to begin with. No widget. Make favourite charts, metal currency combo, time scale. Adverts. There seems to be a few apps out there. I've not looked before.
