C/O the Thought-Provoking Photos (http://gold-silver.us/forum/the-lounge/thought-provoking-photos/msg115648/#quickreply) thread, I thought this was so interesting it deserved its own thread:

This is a good book on the Belgium empire in Africa:

Not only did they establish an empire in the heart of the congo, but through the use of international newspapers, their main priorities in those colonies were obscured for almost a quarter of a century. You need to know about this part of history because it sets up some other things.

Most of the things the Belgian Empire accomplished ~1885 were done in relative secrecy to the rest of the world. When the world finally found out, the massive fortune accumulated from 25 years of strip-mining the Congo suddenly vanished. If that's not interesting, I don't know what is.

Hochschild looks like he's from the tribe of Rothschild. ;)

Very much so, but if you read the book, it's a pretty damning expose towards that group. Basically, he accuses them of strip-mining, rape, genocide, and human rights abuses, then documents it with international reports. This was hidden for 25 years, and finally came to light in the early 1900's. The world was outraged - OUTRAGED - when they found out, but no time for that - here comes World War One. Somewhere in the confusion, the wealth generated from the strip-mining of Africa disappeared....does that sound like the modus operandi of any groups you know?

Now, here is a picture of Silvio Berlusconi, 1977.

The Jadot who assisted so greatly in destroying the integrity of the Catholic Church in America is connected to this (There is even a town in the Congo called Jadotville). Jadot's family gained great wealth from mining and gold refining though there is little public information about them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Jadot

Jadot installed Mahony, Bernard Law, Weakland, etc. all archbishops who neglected their duties and allowed all manner of perversion:

from http://www.thetablet.co.uk/article/4065

He instanced Ted McCarrick, now the Cardinal-Archbishop of Washington DC, and Roger Mahony, the Cardinal-Archbishop of Los Angeles, two of a very small group inside the College of Cardinals who could be called progressives. (Jadot also plucked a priest out of the diocese of Jacksonville, Mississippi, and had him made Bishop of Springfield, Missouri. He is now the embattled Cardinal Archbishop of Boston, Massachusetts, Bernard Law. But that;s another story.)
