Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani says the promotion of "respectful and positive" ties with Croatia will be a positive force in their international interactions.
In a Monday meeting with Semso Tankovic, head of Iran-Croatia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Larijani pointed out that the two countries have always enjoyed growing relations in line with their interests.
Iran's Majlis supports further promotion of relations with Croatia in political, economic and cultural fields, Fars news agency quoted the parliament speaker as saying.

Tankovic, for his part, said the Islamic Republic is an important country in the Middle East and added that the Croatian parliament and nation have special respect for Iran.
He urged the two countries' parliaments to utilize their full potentials in supporting an increase in the level of economic, trade and cultural exchanges.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi told Tankovic that the Iranian Parliament has approved the construction of 20 power plants to produce nuclear fuel for peaceful applications.
In a separate meeting earlier in the day, Boroujerdi reiterated that the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty gives all members of the International Atomic Energy Agency the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful aims.
