If you want a crystal clear vision of how Soviet/Communist politics works, look no further than this book.

PsychoPolitics (http://members.iimetro.com.au/~hubbca/psychopolitics.htm)

A Russian textbook on psycho politics, A MUST READ for all Americans

Quote from Lavrenti Beria:

“ Use the courts, use the judges, use the Constitution of the country, use its medical societies and its laws to further our ends. Do not stint in your labor in this direction. And when you have succeeded you will discover that you can now effect your own legislation at will, and you can, by the careful organization of healing societies, by constant campaigns about the terrors of society, and by pretense as to your effectiveness, make your Capitalist himself, by his own appropriations, finance a large portion of the quiet Communist conquest of the nation. I've been reading this and I can't help feel like this is an attack or hit piece on psychiatry. I don't have any desire to support psychiatry so count that out. While I'm torn on it, I 'm concerned about the references to dianetics (chpt 9) for one. This was apparently written more than a decade before Hubbards book on the topic. There is also a reference near the begining about scientology. So while a good read, chilling, clarifying etc I'm not sure about the authenticity of it. It also says that it is a kind of summary of work done by this Lavrenti guy. I guess I need to try and find some material written by the man himself and see what it says.
